Our beloved dog died last winter after a long coughing illness. He had the cough for months. Then he suddenly developed pneumonia and died. He was 14, but he was a smaller breed that usually lives considerably longer.

Still miss him.

Losing a pet can be more difficult than losing friends/family. My pets don’t steal, lie or charge things to my CC without my knowledge. Many give unconditional love right up to the end. You can hate someone and you can love someone but psychologists say our strongest emotion is grief. Pets are family members. When they’ve been with you for a long time and you’ve had so many happy memories with them, death just sucks. I’ve asked for my cremated remains to be scattered over the grave site of my recently passed pet. Sorry for your loss and know how you feel.
