I knew the guy was a notorious horn-dog willfully unaware of the extent his neo-Nazi father enabled his election. I DIDN'T know (despite admiring some of his speeches) the breadth of his personal courage and patriotism that surely insured LBJ and the CIA getting rid of him.

Which makes me more concerned for President Trump on his mission to regain his usurped office and resume swamp-draining. It's become apparent Kennedy was taken out by the yet-to-be-labelled Deep State and that cabal has wielded the threat of a similar fate over each succeeding office-holder not a corrupt Democrat.

He's got to know the more he overcomes their attempts to stymie and disqualify him the more panicky they'll become - eventually resorting to a hit job. That's what unpatriotic God-less suits who worship and live for power do when cornered under powerful light.

My assessment is that JFK thought his father was powerful enough to protect him.

Once his father had a severe stroke (late 1961—after the speech I quoted) the game changed dramatically.
