“As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!”
Actually, wild turkeys can fly. Many years back, driving west on Hwy 20 in NW FL, I saw three of them shoot across the road in level flight. They came out of the trees on one side of the road and disappeared into trees on the other side. When I say they shot across the road, they were moving very fast.

Still the funniest news report ever. To be fair, turkeys aren’t exactly flightless birds, but distance is not their friend.

Wild Turkeys can fly, but they spend most of their time on the ground. But they don't climb the trees to get up into the limbs. π€£
They can actually fly at speeds of 40 mph.

I re-watch it every Thanksgiving season...
One of the funniest things ever on TV...
