Christian churches are facing a choice: the cross of Christ or the rainbow flag?

In the coming decade, Carl Trueman wrote recently, every single church still calling itself Christian will face a choice: Do we follow Scriptural revelation, or the Sexual Revolution? Catechism, or culture? In the world, or of the world? The cross, or the rainbow flag?
Mainline Protestantism has, for the most part, cast its lot in with the LGBT movement, with their clergy serving primarily as a convenient way for LGBT activists to accuse pastors who still hold to Christian orthodoxy of bigotry. (If those Christians can cave and still call themselves Christian, why can’t you?) These days, you can identify however you want—you can even call yourself a Christian while backing sex changes for minors and championing the destruction of the biblical sexual ethic.
Trueman’s prediction is already proving prescient—one by one, every Christian denomination is facing the choice, and most are splitting over it. Kristin Kobes du Mez, the mainstream media’s favorite Christian Reformed scholar, has become gay-affirming. Andy Stanley, the well-known evangelical pastor of North Point Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia, recently hosted a conference affirming LGBT ideology over Christian orthodoxy. For those who want a bit of religion and the Sexual Revolution at the same time, there is a growing number of options.
We saw this recently at the Church of England’s General Synod, where clergy vote to allow standalone services for gay and lesbian couples which are referred to as “blessings” after same-sex “marriage” ceremonies, the latest Anglican attempt to have it both ways. Formally, they still reject same-sex “marriage”—much to the chagrin and outright outrage of the more revolutionary clergy—but bit by bit, their theological real estate is being colonized under the rainbow flag…

You’re not going to see a LGBTQ flag in my church.
You will see a lot of people wearing I STAND WITH ISRAEL shirts.
And a lot of people wearing crucifixes.
And a lot of people carrying Bibles.

My denomination hasn’t fallen, and I doubt they will. Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee. Our local Methodist Church disaffiliated from United Methodist “Church” over it, as did over 6,000 other Methodist churches.

Five years ago (on Easter Sunday when they knew people were less likely to get up and walk out) my old congregation announced that they were going to start flying the rainbow rag.
Haven’t set foot in the building since. Nor have a lot of folks, as the word is that their finances are in the hole and sinking fast.

Actually, Rome has overall been drifting South for decades, thus its TradCath sects, and it is so-called Protestantism" that is closest to Rome that is the liberal branch, reflective of liberal views on the integrity and authority of Scripture. And those who most strongly esteemed as the accurate and wholly inspired word of God, with its basic literal hermeneutic, have long testified to being far more conservative and unified in polled core beliefs and values than Catholics overall. Yet even this class, esp. the young, are increasingly liberal.

There is such a think as being too Tolerant. What is next? Child Brides as in Islam? Polygamous marriage? Atheism? Satan never sleeps and he will turn what is good into that which serves his evil ends.

Christian churches are facing a choice: the cross of Christ or the rainbow flagWhat's next???
Mormonism??
Responses showed significant emotional distress, dramatic loss of trust in Church leaders,
and a dramatic decline in Church Activity as a result of the policy.
Individual stories help us to understand where and how different LGBT Mormons find hope,
and why discussion about the Church can be so polarizing.

My church will not go the homo route. The pastor, asst. pastor and deacons will not tolerate the liberal agenda. We preach the Bible and salvation. We had 147 Sunday morning, the liberal1st Baptist Church barely had a third of that number. We are not chasing numbers but souls saved. The Lord had four baptized Sunday morning with two more to come next week.

For sometime I’ve speculated how antichrist could be both a Muslim mahdi and homosexual and what I’ve come up with is this: by using the already in place Islamic doctrine of abrogation he could declare a poofter and trans friendly (or even mandatory) version of Islam and the apostate west will flock to the Mosques to take whatever mark is asked of them.
This seems necessary because the apostate west will not unite unless they can take their beloved homosexuals with them.
As for a Muslim being the antichrist, consider this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvJvwgJ_Ksg

Thank you for sharing this video. I read Shoebat’s, “God’s War on Terror” about 10 years ago (I think). I had a difficult time seeing how Islam could attract the sympathy of the Western World to its cause. The Western shift towards Islam in the “Controversy of Zion” (Isaiah 34) make’s Shoebat’s interpretation compelling. Islam is indeed the original “Antichrist” religion (Allah has no son!) Its eschatology is mirrors Judeo-Christian eschatology, only from Antichrist sympathies. Thanks again!

…Additionally, Islam’s affinity with masculine homosexuality going back to Mohammed raping his captives (like Muammar Gaddafi was raped and killed in 2011 the Libyan rebels) and the common practice of “Bacha bāzī” makes it a Sodomite religion!
