Everybody’s an “FN” victim these days.
Cue the Bongino rule. Wait 72 hours before commenting.
So 50+ years ago, Namath let his name be associated with a camp for young people. Now HE is responsible for something someone did? This is just a torpedo shot into the legal system hoping to make a buck.
What did Joe do to pi$$ off the Democrats?
“I admired Joe Namath, who apparently was just as bad.”
Based on what? The man says Namath “should” have known. Is that evidence? Maybe in the 13th century.
Accused of being aware of something someone else allegedly did 51 years ago.
Sounds like a shakedown.
Very few people in the world get to be on top of the world without being a fundamentally bad person or compromised. Being compromisable is the gate to worldly wealth.
Get bent, loser.
The Post should hang its head in shame that it has to print such crap. This belongs in the National Enquirer or such other trash publication if at all.
No molestation, it was at a Western Maryland college, everybody was professional.
I had worse experiences in my family home.
So this guy continued going to that football camp for another 2 years after the abuse. I don’t know what’s up with him but if I was 12 and some grown man came on to me I would have stopped him immediately in no uncertain terms. This guy apparently went along with it because he was receiving special favors. Now he wants to blame Joe Namath looking for money. It’s not Joe’s fault this little punk went along with his fag abuser. If anything he should have sued the abuser.
“Smith alleged that Namath’s negligence is analogous to that of the late Paterno”
From Smith: Namath should have known. Not analogous. Paterno knew and was active in the coverup.
I see a lot of folks here defending Mr. Namant, expressing doubt about the story, and wanting to see actual evidence before slamming him.
That’s all well and good. Even NFL scumbags deserve justice rather than kneejerk condemnation.
I urge “ALL” to remember the same desire for real justice when the accused is a member of a group you don’t like or of which you disapprove.
Okay not knowing anything But what this guy and his lawyer are alleging in court filings it is a large leap to conclude anything
Question is what did Namath know and when did he know it.
Penn State had zero ability to claim they didn’t know after the Rose a bowl
Incident… so any claims of ignorance are lies
I am not saying Namath did not know, but it’s a far cry from
Allegation in a civil suit seeking damages, and what actually was known.
If Namath knew and turned a blind eye, then he deserves to be castigated. However just because someone accusing him of knowing does not mean he knew.
The story is very disturbing, considering how many people in the Camp worked together to allow certain things to happen, assuming that they ever did happen. I almost wish I hadn’t read it, but nothing in what I read directly implicates Namath.
He did a lot of favors for the football camp staff back then. Little things to adults, but a big deal to kids. Joe would throw a ball to certain kids during practice, he would invite some kids to the lunch table every so often and others maybe not at all. He would autograph photo of him in uniform. Joe would do these things simply because the Camp staff asked him to. Probably made no difference to him.

Watch your mouth A-hole
51 years, eh? Seems a long time to wait. Why not report the pervert earlier? Might have saved some other boys. If it happened at all.
Why did the kid go back three years in a row?
