Dalena Martin and her husband, Jeremy Martin, voluntarily entrusted the care of their daughter to family friends after they relapsed on their drug addictions. It’s called a temporary safety plan.

Child Protective Services got involved after that, WFAA reported. The state offered an option to place the 2-year-old girl, McKenna, in a relative’s home. Two weeks later, that family’s pit bull lunged at McKenna across a table and attacked her.

“It then got the taste of blood in her mouth and went crazy,” Dalena Martin told WFAA. “She (the dog) was already becoming reactive, but she was a family dog and she laid with McKenna the night before.”

McKenna was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, where she’s been since. The dog attacked her face, crushed her cheek bones and bit her leg.

Yep. And neck tattoos. Always neck tattoos.

And they always seem to be just scraping by on living expenses, wondering where their money went.

“She (the dog) was already becoming reactive, but she was a family dog and she laid with McKenna the night before.”

Funny that they always present these characteristics in defense of the breed when it actually adds to their indictment as wholly unpredictable.

It might be better to say that the dog in question was sketchy from the start.

Someone should give CPS a heads-up about pits. Can you believe the freaking knot-head CPS "workers" who did this?

Yes, because in spite of a couple CPS workers I knew personally who were good, Christian folks, the horror stories we hear regularly cause me to believe this.

Most social workers do not care about protecting anything but their jobs.

There are two types of Pit owners…
Add category no. 3 to your list: suburban lefties who think it's socially responsible to "rescue" a pit, but haven't a clue.

I'm sure most Freepers can give accounts of this terrorist breed from personal experience or from related accounts. I've been touched through a family friend, an elderly blind lady, who was attacked on a street corner with her service dog while waiting for her transporation bus. Two dogs, with a "POC" owner. Both she and her service dog survived, but were physically and psychologically scarred. The dog failed to thrive after the attack and died a few years later.

A neighbor on the NextDoor app related an account of two neigboring pit bulls tearing through a wood fence separating the two back yard. The dogs mutilated their family dog to death, actually skinning a back leg bare from the violence. My shotgun would have been smoking.

Poor kid never stood a chance.

Might’ve been better off with the meth head parents, than being placed in a pit bull home.

Imagine if the deranged left and libertarians get their way about legalizing all drugs, Oregon-style. Such parents would have no incentive to give up their kids.

STATUS symbol with the AA crowd.

I have a Rottweiler mix & found at the pound over 2 years ago.

He can be very noisy when someone he doesn’t know shows up.

A couple of ‘dog bones’ are the price of admission.

I believe he would be very protective if someone was to show any trouble for me.

Otherwise——when he decides you are OK-—HE IS AN ATTENTION Vacuum.

Read post 19, it applies to that thread also, saying people shouldn’t post that thread because we should never stray from the immigration topic is just as weirdly nuts and you don’t mean it anyway.

#32: "Might’ve been better off with the meth head parents, than being placed in a pit bull home."

My thoughts exactly. Clearly the parents cared about their daughter. The picture shows an 8 year old kid who is clean and well groomed with nice clothes. Cute as a brass button.
