The point of this display is to illustrate that if there were not statistical techniques such as anomaly analysis and scale amplification, humans would not likely be able to detect the mild rise in temperature since 1880.

The point of this display is to push Climate Change and the dystopian measures its proponents want to impose on an innocent society. It really does take some balls to pull out data from somewhere (before NASA or GISS was even invented) and equate it with much later gained data (massaged, amplified, filtered, scaled or not).

C'mon, NASA. I wanna hear again how the blow up of Mt. Pinatubo did NOTHING to our climate (long term or short) but cow farts are a tremendous danger.

I saw the NASA pictures of the atmospheric aftermath of Pinatubo’s eruption. and it was definitely not nothing. My point is that NASA et al plays those events down because they have no means to do anything about them like stopping cow farts, I guess.

Of course there are the odd weirdos out there who say we are causing volcanic eruptions because we don’t control/stop cow farts.
