Oakland used to be the home of three pro franchises - the Raiders, the Warriors and the A’s - all gone. Two of them to Vegas.
Also used to be the home to the Oakland Seals (NHL), established in 1967. By 1976 (after years of mismanagement particularly under Charlie Finley), the franchise moved to Cleveland (Richfield) and then merged in 1978 with the Minnesota North Stars.
hey now...you forgot the Oakland Seals hockey team...white skates and all...
A total of 10 championships while in the city of Oakland. Four each for the A's and the Warriors, and two for the Raiders.
Some of us remember the Philadelphia A’s, Washington Senators, Boston Braves, Chicago Cardinals, Baltimore Colts, St.Louis Browns, etc. But that was when America was still America.
The Cowboys left Dallas a long time ago, and moved to Irving, then Arlington.
The Bay Area doesn’t need two teams.
