Two juveniles believed to be from Washington D.C. were caught on video discussing the difference in criminal charges they could receive for various crimes, including armed robbery, armed carjacking and murder, as city leaders on Monday announced measures to grapple with an uptick in youth violence.
The video was posted to social media over the weekend and shows the underage males talking about the crimes, Fox 5 DC reported.
"He’s saying he'd rather commit murder than armed robbery," one of the males is heard saying.
"You didn't say armed robbery," another replies.
"Armed robbery is what we’re doing!," the first minor says, to which the other male says: "No it's not. It's armed robbery and an armed carjacking dummy."
"It's the same thing. That's lower than murder," the first teen says.
The other teen disagreed: "That’s dumb. You’d rather take a human’s life… and get life than rob someone and get 10 to 12 years!"
Off camera, a third person chimes in.
"Murder is a gun charge, possession of a gun, murder, first-degree murder … that's like eight charges in one case."
Fox News Digital has reached out to Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's office about the video. The footage comes as the city continues to grapple with juvenile crime.

Much gnashing of teeth for the photo op, but absolutely no plan for addressing the problem. May I suggest jail time for teens caught doing illegal activities? It’s time to admit that the Left’s position of non-prosecution of teen crime doesn’t work.
Youth…
Who says kids are thoughtless these days.
Sounds like a Monty Python skit.
Businesses also create this mindset by turning a blind eye to crime. In the past month, I’ve seen flagrant shoplifting at a Dollar Tree and Dollar General here in rural Missouri. Each time, it was an “Amish” male. At the Dollar Tree, I told the cashier that a guy just walked out with a bunch of stuff. The cashier’s response: “He could fill up a shopping cart and take it out of here. Corporate policy says I have to just let him go.” The cashier said he would also lose his job if the did anything, including reporting it to the police.
How about a bullet to the forehead? That’s a consequence to consider.
It’s actually encouragingly rational.
Tells you that stiff penalties work.
If only.
but their brain isn’t fully formed till 24 and they don’t know what they’re doing... right???
This is why I don’t believe all lives matter.
