Secret Service agents assigned to defend President Biden’s granddaughter opened fire late Sunday on a group of people attempting to break into an unmarked Secret Service car in Washington, DC, officials said.
“On Nov. 12 around 11:58 p.m. in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC, Secret Service agents encountered possibly three individuals breaking a window on a parked and unoccupied government vehicle,” the agency’s spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi, said in a statement.
“During this encounter, a federal agent discharged a service weapon and it is believed no one was struck. The offenders immediately fled the scene in a red vehicle and a regional lookout was issued to supporting units. There was no threat to any protectees and the incident is being investigated by the DC Metropolitan Police Department and the Secret Service.”
Agents protecting Naomi Biden were out with the 29-year-old in the Georgetown neighborhood late Sunday when they caught three people attempting to break into a parked, unmarked Secret Service vehicle in the area, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press.
A spokesperson for the DC Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The agency put out a regional bulletin to the police to be on the lookout for the suspects’ vehicle.
The nation’s capital has seen a drastic rise in carjackings and car thefts this year. In the past year, police have received reports of more than 750 carjackings and over 6,000 stolen vehicles.

No. And if an endangered-species protected alligator wants to take a chunk out of you, you better let him, if you know what’s good for him. Otherwise, you’ll be in trouble.
Pres Bidung makes up for it by denying SS protection to his political adversaries running against him (RFK Jr) and my guess is that Hunter's "Love Child" gets no protection.
Yea, I was thinking: did they hit anything?
Yes, of course. But only if you are a member of the Big Club. Don’t you try it, though. Just remember…
Since we became a global empire.
I had a great Uncle who worked in DC most of his career. He got to DC in 1931 after graduating from Harvard. He said at the time, there was a small decorative fence around the White House, which Coolidge installed to keep people from wandering and relaxing on the White House lawn. He used to regularly see the Vice President and various cabinet officials out for lunch at some local taverns. After lunch, they would walk back to their office at the executive office building. No one would bother to shoot them, because no one knew who they were, or cared.
I want that Fed.gov back.
Fired a warning shot straight up.
This title is made to sound as though Naomi was in the car and had to be saved from these carjackers by the SS agents. LOL
The Secret Service did not have a detailed description of the suspect but they noted that he dropped a Jet magazine. Now who done it?
The Secret Service is authorized by 18 U.S.C. § 3056(a) to protect:[11]
The president, vice president (or the next individual in the order of succession, should the vice presidency be vacant), president-elect and vice president-elect
The ‘immediate families’ of the above individuals
Former presidents and their spouses for their lifetimes, except if the spouse remarries
Children of former presidents under the age of 16
Immediate families, not adult grandchildren
“over 6,000 stolen vehicles”
That’s probably about 1 in 40 that are in DC, annually
“750 carjackings”
That’s probably about 1 in 300 that are in DC, annually
In the next 50 years, about a sixth of the people in Congress might suffer a carjacking unless the problem is nipped in the bud.
“Immediate families, not adult grandchildren”
And not empty SUVs.
Wrong granddaughter.
She had a Whitehouse wedding.
Might be nice it they award RFK Jr. the same secret service protection Biden’s granddaughter is getting.
No, different one.
But shooting, potentially killing someone over a car break in? A bit over the top, I'd say.
Arrest the SS agent for attempted murder. /sarc
and if you did that, you’d go straight to jail do not pass go do not collect $200...
