Rotten Tomatoes is at it again.
They are cheating their scores. Case in point...yesterday MATHEW DEKINDER's review was 3 out of 5 stars, but HE rated the movie rotten. At that point, The Marvels had a ROTTEN All Critics score of 56.
This could not stand! A Disney/Marvel movie CANNOT have a ROTTEN score leading into the first weekend! By some miracle Mathew's 3/5 got re-interpreted into a FRESH review! Looking at a lot of these obscure "critics" that no one has ever heard of, many of them gave them 3 out of 5 stars that have been interpreted as FRESH reviews.
Of course if you go to Top Critics, the score is a rotten 42.
What is hilarious is the Pixie Dusters who are putting in the early audience reviews and are just giving GLOWING reviews. Disney pays well.
Total wokeism, Disney does not understand the audience, that superheroes are male, with a heroine beside him.
3 out of 5 should be an average rating without grade inflation. But there is no room for “OK, but maybe wait for streaming instead of paying to see it”. Everything has to be great or awful.
I trust the critical drinker a lot more than these bozos.
The son of a family friend works in Hollyweird and has worked on this movie. He invited several families of his high school friends to see the show tomorrow. He came to town Wednesday and a bunch of us gathered at Alamo Cafe for dinner and conversation. He asked who had seen the trailers and of course I popped off with “I thought Capt. America was a male. Is the chick woke?” My wife admonished me in the ribs and hissed STFU.
Fortunately the dude laughed and noted that he got paid no matter the gender.
3 out of 5 is 60%. I’m old-school so that’s a D-.
To Disney, the audience has been irrelevant for some time now. What matters is the dissemination of the narrative and their ESG / DEI ratings.

I also like Nerdrotic and Valliant Renegade. I sometimes checkout Doomcock for laughs. WDW Pro is okay, but I get the feeling he tries too hard to not take sides.
While I’m mentioning YouTube channels...check out The Why Files. He talks about weird stuff from a very sensible point of view. Not too stuffy, not too woo woo.

The drinker has been on a roll recently savaging the MCU.
Capt. Marvel, and yes he was until legal dispute over the name between DC and Marvel comics. Hence the former Captain Marvel in DC is now "Shazam" (the word that transforms him from teen Billy Batson into a superhero) while Marvel's character is jet pilot Carol Danvers - an over-powered mish-mosh of human and alien I don't think her writer's fully get let alone explain for the rest of us.
To make matters even more confusing Marvel Comics character was indeed male for decades until their movie studio needed more strong female characters to attract more female ticket buyers while flexing "woke" credential. Seems they were first to "trans" someone before it became a sick fad in real life.
But Captain America himself is still a male, just a mortal black guy with flight suit technology (again for Woke's Sake) instead of Steve Rogers' friend and fellow Super Serum experiment Bucky Barnes. See "Captain America: Winter Soldier".
