Hotel magnate and aerospace entrepreneur Robert Bigelow—who gave $20 million to a pro-Ron DeSantis super PAC in March—is now criticizing the Florida governor’s presidential campaign, hinting to the Financial Times he might throw his support behind Donald Trump, who leads among candidates for the Republican presidential nomination. Bigelow pointed to Hamas’ attack on Israel as a reason why he might shift his support to Trump, telling the Financial Times in an article published Wednesday the U.S. needs a strong and “streetwise” leader like the former president. He also told the Financial Times he thinks if Trump—who has been indicted four times—can stay out of jail, he will win the Republican presidential primary. Bigelow praised DeSantis for trying to reopen Florida businesses during the pandemic and donated $20,000,500 to the DeSantis-aligned Never Back Down super PAC—claiming he made the decision after hearing someone else was planning to donate $20 million. Bigelow told the Financial Times DeSantis is “way too focused on conservatism,” and Trump is more socially moderate, which he previously told Reuters will attract more voters. The entrepreneur—who founded space company Bigelow Aerospace and hotel chain Budget Suites of America—also compared Trump to a bull, and DeSantis to “dinner.” KEY BACKGROUND Bigelow told Reuters he’s shared his concerns over DeSantis’s “extremism” with the DeSantis campaign, but did not specify which of the governor’s policies he didn’t support other than the six-week abortion ban. The entrepreneur told Reuters he was not donating more money at the time until he saw DeSantis could “generate more on his own.” “Who would you want as a commander? I’d want somebody that would be a hell of an ass kicker if he needed to be. On the face of it, you lean toward Trump,” Bigelow told the Financial Times.

DeSunktis gets stuck on the tracks! All aboard the Trump Train!
This is ridiculous. This donor obvious realized this a long time ago. Alvin Bragg assured that Trump would win the nomination.
The prophet has written his message on the subway walls.
Support for Ron DeSantis as candidate for the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination is melting like snow in the rain.
The only obvious answer is to put all the effort behind Donald J. Trump, and go blasting through all the lawfare attacks he has been besieged with, with whatever pressure it takes and whatever means to counter the fraudulent practice of the legal system.
Trump clearly has captured the hearts, minds, and imagination of America, a force of nature that may no longer be trifled with by the jackals and anti-American agitators that have gained so much leverage in recent times.
That's anti-Trump. Trump said DeSantis did terrible on the pandemic, and Andrew Cuomo did well.
Now why would you think that Capt. Obvious?
Gee Trump Cultist newbie March 23 .
Just joined to trash Desantis .
A new DU POSTER fueling the Divide and Conquer strategy .
How Nice .
Besides that, it's not a cult, it's a movement to save this nation, but low-information people like yourself will always call people they disagree with disparaging names.
The next time I’m accused of attacking President Trump I will call upon you as a witness for the defense.
Thanks for standing up for me!
This stuff is so unreal: just consider what you or I could do with $20 million, even after taxes. And it was wasted on a pair of Tony Lama lifts.
I’m ok with lifts, but those white go-go boots were de trop.
This billionaire must be a poll watcher from January.
Butt hurt much?
