Putin's Newest Nuclear-Capable Missiles Keep Flunking Tests: Report
Newsweek ^ | 11/2/2023 | Isabel van Brugen

A handful of tests launches of Russian President Vladimir Putin's newest nuclear-capable missiles have either been canceled or failed since June, according to a report.

Independent Russian news outlet Sirena reported on Wednesday, citing a source at a rocket and space industry enterprise in the country, said at least six missile tests have been unsuccessful since June 30.

The attempted tests involved Russia's next-generation "Poseidon" nuclear-capable torpedo, its Sarmat weaponry, its Yars intercontinental ballistic missile, and the Bulava, an intercontinental-range, submarine-launched, ballistic missile which is also designed to carry a nuclear warhead.

-snip-

Sirena reported that its source said the Yars missile "fell during the second stage of flight" and the Bulava launch was "canceled at the last moment."

Just days later, on October 31, the next Sarmat launch failed "because the telemetry system failed," Sirena reported.

And on Wednesday, Russia's the same type of missile fell 77 seconds into its test launch, and 300 kilometers (186 miles) from its launch site.

I hate to point out, this week the US Air Force attempted a test of the Minuteman III missile, the test failed, and the missile test was aborted. The point being, it’s not just Russia that suffers from missile failures.

Step One in every military disaster: Under-estimate the enemy.

Pre 2022 info on the weapons:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Status-6_Oceanic_Multipurpose_System The Poseidon torpedo, first presented 2015 and now already deployed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RS-28_Sarmat
Presented 2018, first test flight 2022, now already deployed Sept this year.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RS-24_Yars
This has been in operational deployment since 2010. Periodic testing for maintenance does go on, but given 13 years, any failures would likely be some sort of human error. This is a standardized and operational MIRVed missile.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSM-56_Bulava
Operational since 2018. Sublaunched.

This Sirena news source of this badly researched story is difficult to track down. Suspiciously so.

I commend you on trying to get through to the Putin ass kissers on FR. I used to try to see things from the russian perspective but I saw the error of my ways.

“Deployed” doesn’t mean working. Particularly with SATAN-2.

If are going to play this tit for tat over missile failures.

Supposedly Russia has a working deployed hypersonic missile, this US has this, evidently we can’t even get a test missile to work.

Russia’s “hypersonic” missiles are not hypersonic. Russia isn’t even using them against Ukraine any more because of all the shootdowns by Ukrainian AD.

That is largely incorrect. You don’t mass produce if you have not completed successful testing, and you can’t be operational if you have not mass produced.

There is this bizarre inclination to reject facts in analysis of weaponry. Far too long being told of American exceptionalism. Can’t launch your own astronauts to the space station for 10 years? Not important, just ignore that. No hypersonics and the enemy has them? Just ignore it. You are still superior and exceptional and can lean back.

It’s an incredibly dangerous mindset.

Not to worry, the old ones will work just fine once the DC warmongers, traitors and dip$hits blunder us into a shooting war with the Russians.

And you know this, do you have sources inside military intelligence.

The point being, you don’t know what Russia has and neither do I.

The US is having all sorts of issues with the military, recruiting quotas are way off, hypersonic missiles are failing, and a Minuteman III just failed.

Russia has their own issues, trying to make them look inept and US as infallible is stupid.
