KNOXVILLE, Friday, Oct. 30 VIA LOUISVILLE, Sunday, Nov. 1.

Our forces which occupied Loudon have retreated to the north side of the river, and now occupy the heights commanding Loudon. The other dispositions of our troops remain unchanged.

NASHVILLE, Saturday, Oct. 31, Via LOUISVILLE, Sunday, Nov. 1.

Lieut.-Col. SHIEELY, of the First Middle Tennessee infantry, attacked HAWKINS and other guerrilla chiefs near Pincy Factory, and routed and pursued them to Centreville, where HAWCINS made another stand, attacking the Federals while they were crossing the river. HAWKINS was again routed and pursued until his force was dispersed with the loss of 66 prisoners, including GRIFFITH, formerly editor of the Nashville Union and American newspaper. Our loss was trifling.

CAIRO, Sunday, Nov. 1.

Private advices from below, report SHERMAN skirmishing daily with the rebels under LEE, RODNEY and FORREST.

All news of military operations in that quarter is contraband.

The steamers Adriatic and City of Pekin were fired into by guerrillas while on their way up to Memphis. One man was killed and eight wounded on the Adriatic. A gunboat has gone down to the scene of danger.

EXTRAORDINARY DEVELOPMENT.

Plot to Overthrow the State Government of Ohio Discovered, &c.

CINCINNATI, Sunday, Nov. 1.

An extraordinary case of treason has recently come to light, implicating several persons in this city, Columbus, Covington, and Newport, in conspiring to release the rebel prisoners at Camp Chase, and overthrow the State Government. The conspiracy was brought to light by United States detectives, who were supposed by the parties implicated to be spies from the rebel army, and were treated with full confidence.

The plot, as disclosed to the detectives, was that an attack was to be made on Camp Chase; release the rebel prisoners confined there, numbering 3,500; seize the arsenal at Columbia;
