It also shows he has no personaility and has an issue with handling people. He should done like Trump does and taken control of the interview or responded to it more positively and embraced it with humor and said something like, “I HAVE seen that meme and it is fake and laughed it off.” Instead he has no charisma and just speaks like a robotic conehead: I’ve never seen that, and then immediately says 5’ 11” (the height you give when you’re not really 6’ but want to say you’re taller than you really are and still be believable.) He is humorless and lifeless. That is a problem.
There have been 300 comments on FR today on DeSantis and what is everyone is talking about: does he wear high heels? People can say stick to the issues. This doesn’t matter. This is an issue. Your image is an ISSUE. What image you are protraying is an issue. This is his Dean scream or Dukakis in a tank moment. This is not hyperbobly. He may have actually had a chance. But he’s NEVER going to be President now. This was another nail in the coffin. You’re never going to be the President if you’re not tall or if you give the impression that you’re the short guy.
And it also shows he assembled a really bad campaign and PR team. If he really hasn’t seen this, whey haven’t they shown it to him yet? Christina Pushaw was getting into a fight over this a few days ago and the Dilley Meme Team first brought this up 5 months ago. It is like his team is sabotaging him and DeSantis may not be very good at hiring afterall. DeSantis HIMSELF and his team made it this weird sticking point that people are always going to bring up.

No different than Yeb Bush standing on his tippy toes for a photo opp but coming out looking like a fool.
DeSantis made himself look like a fool, not by wearing elevator shoes, but by lying about it.
He could have admitted it. He could have said his fashion choices were his own and unimportant and irrelevant to what really matters. But he chose to lie. And that lie makes him look weak because he’s embarrassed about his height and choice of shoes.
