I know Israel must destroy Hamas. I think Hamas set a trap and provided unprecedented horror in order to have Israel fight Hamas at a time Hamas has brokered support - so this would be a fight on Hama’s terms.
Hamas will kill Israelis in an unending stream if not destroyed; I think Hamas built a ‘team’ and wants ISrael to fight.
Israel’s plan must be different than expected. Right now the fight is designed by Hamas to serve Hamas’ purposes. SOMEHOW Israel has to avoid the ‘team’ trap Hamas and friends have set, and at a time/place/manner unanticipated, must destroy Hamas.
I think Macgregor could have said it better (e.g., lose the’ save Israel from itself’ as it’s wrong) but I think he wants Israel to fight on Israel’s terms. It would do zero good if Macgregor floated ideas about how Israel is to do this - the element of surprise is needed. Maybe Israel IS privately enacting her own plan, and making the world think she is approaching Hamas on Hamas’ terms. Won’t know until it unfolds.
So I think Macgregor is in the ‘yes, kill Hamas, but not on their terms’ camp. We shall see.

Israel has a wide range of options for wrecking Iran and I have no doubt that Israeli military planners are reviewing and updating their target plans. Even with US support against Hamas, at some point, Israel's pain and sense of existential menace may lead to a decision to attack Iran -- perhaps even with nuclear weapons. After that, all of Gaza could be reduced to smoking rubble and bodies and few would care.

Just for historical purposes, in WWII the US and allied forces carpet bombed Dresden and other cities in Germany. They used incendiary bombs on civilians. Some estimates are that up to 250,000 people died from the bombing. Mostly women, children, and the elderly were literally burned alive in what today, and even then among some, would be considered a war crime.
Another 250,000 mostly civilians died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Not commenting on all that history, just putting into context that other civilizations have done what they believed was needed in a life and death struggle for survival. And yet most of the world continues to tell Israel to show restraint in the face of enduring ongoing civilian bombings, mass casualties, and stated goals to annihilate them from the face of the earth.
Muslims stop all their ruthless aggression if they get their noses bloodied enough. They were truly afraid of Trump, but only despise the Biden regime, whom they regard as toothless and begging for surrender to the Muslim threat.
Secretary Blinken only murmurs “Please stoppppppppppppp!”, while Trump quietly reminded the rascals he would “rain Hell upon them”.

I think he’s a dickhead on this. The attack would be like 50,000 dead in America and 3,000 raped and taken hostage. There’s no way a self respecting nation can do anything but totally eradicate such an enemy.
Gaza is slightly larger than Saipan. Israel doesn’t have anything comparable to WWII Marines, but we got that with 70,000 and took around 3500 dead. And 13000 wounded. Took roughly a month.
They need to start and assault that place until it’s completely defeated. Any other national getting involved should face brutal consequences. Then there needs to be a sword of Gideon operation as in after Munich, all around the world killing the financiers and thought leaders and big time apologists whether they be in London, Europe or even in more surprising places.
Mcgregor is flat wrong in this one. He has had some good analysis, but he needs to check himself.
This atrocity went FAR beyond anything that can be considered repaid with a week or two of airstrikes.
