Tell Israel no as to eliminating Hamas, and the response from Netanyahu may be, "We cannot permit the wanton and unjustified murder of Israeli citizens by Hamas to go less than fully punished or for Hamas to persist as a threat. Regretfully, if US and other international support is inadequate or is withdrawn, Israel will be forced to give full consideration to the use of all the means at its disposal for dealing with Hamas and is principal supporter, Iran."
Israel has a wide range of options for wrecking Iran and I have no doubt that Israeli military planners are reviewing and updating their target plans. Even with US support against Hamas, at some point, Israel's pain and sense of existential menace may lead to a decision to attack Iran -- perhaps even with nuclear weapons. After that, all of Gaza could be reduced to smoking rubble and bodies and few would care.
