Ugh. If she were truly a Jewish conservative, she would know that Hitler was by no means “right wing” but was a socialist. His fascist successors are today’s “progressives”, not conservatives. Look who is cheering on Hamas’ slaughter of Jews. Plus she has obviously bought into the idea that Judaism is focused on “tikkun olam” (repairing the world), which is a concept grafted onto authentic Judaism by left-wing ideologues in the 1970s and 1980s and is now used to provide Jewish terminology for every far-left political position in existence.
She really misses the point. American Jewry votes left-wing because most American Jews have essentially adopted secular left-wing ideology in lieu of authentic Judaism and living a Torah-focused life. Note how politically conservative most Orthodox Jews are here in the US.

Donald Trump, elected in 2016, was the most Israel-friendly President in American history.
In 2020, 77% of Jewish Americans voted for the demented Joe Biden and the anti-Semitic Democratic Party.
The fight isn’t over the negligible Jewish vote, it’s over tilting Jewish political contributions to a more even split between Dem and GOP.

Because most American Jews I’ve known identify as Marxists, Socialists, Feminists, Environmentalists, and a whole litany of other -ists first, before they’re ever get down to being observant and believing Jews. Most I’ve known only trot out their Judaism when they want to offend or be offended by Christians. The rest of the time they’re practicing atheists.
Where they choose to live has something to do with it, in my opinion. Is there any other group that lives in urban areas at the same % as Jews? Do they vote any differently? I once tried to find if there was a difference between Jews voting in rural vs urban areas. I couldn’t find any exit polling that included religion and also broke it down by rural vs urban. I think rural living Jews are a fairly small % in any case.

After 9/11, most people in the US seemed Republican — putting flags on their car, etc. A few years later they elected Hussein. People forget.
Sometimes you can’t fix stupid. Apparently there are Jews in Israel protesting the action in the Gaza strip.
Only when a gun is pointed to their head and they are seconds away from death, will they admit that they were wrong. Maybe even then, not.
I’ve just never understood the apparently widespread and historical antipathy toward Jews in general.
And I don’t mean the stupidity of so many of them voting so often for their existential tormentors, etc.
Leaving aside the whole Christianity vs Judaism pissing contest, I just don’t get it.
If only such mistrust and hatred were directed against the true evil of islam, this world could be a much saner place.

Jews with a history of being the Great Scapegoat in societies since the dispersion have adopted the predominant customs and politics of the nations they live in hoping that it provides cover against manifestations of antiJewish manias. They are outsiders wherever they and reside subject to pogroms when the local population is oppressed and suffers from causes they do know understand. It is easy for the rulers to blame them for what hardships and disasters might otherwise be rightly blamed on the rulers themselves.
This is garbage and nonsense. Mitzvot are not "good deeds"--they are commandments, and commandments imply submission to a Commander.
Liberal Jews, like the entire post-"enlightenment" western world, believe that there is some sort of objective, purely natural, non-Theistically based morality. No such thing has ever existed. The whole point of morality is submission to the Divine Will. Non-Theists cannot do this and so cannot be moral.
The author also fails to mention that championing homosexuality and warring against the Hebrew Bible (in the name of "fighting chrstianity") are hardly Biblical!
For a publication with “American” in its name, the Thinker certainly is very interested in foreign countries.
