Performed live at Toronto Rocks 2003.
Alex Lifeson on guitar. Geddy Lee on bass guitar. Neil Peart on a drum set so large it has its own zip code.
Most Excellent. Thanks. Went to Moving Pictures 1981 my senior year in high school, and then R40 2015 with my sons. Incredible.
Emotional Rescue was on our Spotify playlist tonight. Thought of Rush.
Just realized that wasn’t the Rush you were thinking of with your post. Oh well. LOL.
Best guitar intro ever, IMHO.
RIP Neal.
Rush YouTube Playlist...not all, but 87 of the best:

Great music from a trio of avowed Marxists.
Neil Peart was a devotee of Ayn Rand. Many of his lyrics were anti-totalitarianism (2112, The Trees). So, as with most of your Ukraine posts, you’re full of sh*t.
I think you are confused.
do you think they really thought that all the trees should be kept equal?
or the elders should suppress the ancient musical instruments.
maybe extolling the virtues of being a working man, or agreeing to help some hard working trailer park boys trying to make a funny tv show episode.
whatever
Geddy Lee’s parents met in the death camps.... managed to find each other after the war and got married and settled in Toronto where Geddy was born.
Quite an amazing interview Geddy gives where he tells his parent’s holocaust story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPxwSF4CGyo
The whole Rio Concert is on YouTube.
Those Brazilian fans are nuts!
Ahhh...
I was Hoping it was a Rush Limbaugh radio tribute from the headline.
carry on...
Me too. I miss the guy every day.
I’m a huge Rush fan. I was just listening to this last night/
RE: “Neil Peart was a devotee of Ayn Rand.”
Absolutely. Another example was “Anthem.”
They were making music during the Cold War, when many of us were worried about the spread of communism. I remember we were concerned about Canada heading in that direction.
I’m not a big fan of Ayn Rand. Most of us hadn’t heard of her when we were teens listening to Rush. But, we agreed with Rush’s message.
Later, they might’ve tried to back away from their earlier Randian lyrics, but there’s no denying it. The lyrics are there for everyone to read.
Couple of my favorite Neal Peart pearls of wisdom:
When I'm riding my motorcycle, I'm glad to be alive. When I stop riding my motorcycle, I'm glad to be alive.
We're only immortal for a limited time
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep
RIP Neil
Hey Fellow RUSHians! Always glad to meet fellow devotees.
Presto Tour, 1989. Every day since :)
Still crying over Neil. Always hoped he left some small bit of writing or another book but the damned brain tumor robbed him of his greatest asset and quality.
Remember the bookended double sh!tty whammies of losing Neil in Jan ‘21 and then our own beloved Maha Rushie in Feb ‘22?
I was getting new plates for my new address later in ‘21. Vanity plate paid tribute to them both.
The very fitting and prophetic last tune of Rush’s last album - The Garden. Words to live by.

My favorite Neil quote is “What is the most excellent thing I can do today?”. I used to try harder to follow that bit of wisdom. He was just simply the best.
How about this one?
The future disappears into memory
With only a moment between
Forever dwells in that moment
Hope is what remains to be seen
Great knowing there are folks that recognize and appreciate that mans brilliance (Neil). Just like you, I miss them both. Think of Neil especially when I’m cruising my ‘83 GS1100.
FYI - Neil passed on 07JAN20 and Rush on 17FEB21
