Let’s just think.....DeSantis does not have weapons to send. Geeeez...how stupid is the media.

Wrong.
Here are the numerous articles claiming otherwise.

Who is lying to whom?
Thank you for that clarification.
“Redfern also said the governor’s office “worked with the [Israeli] Consul General [Maor Elbaz-Starinksy in Miami] to help get weapons and ammunition to Israel through private parties.””
You do know drones are weapons, right?
I do know that they can be weapons, but they can also just be surveillance devices. And, so what? All he did was help get private support to Israel; he didn’t buy the drones and such with tax money which seemed to be the main concern from those who loathe him. When that fell through, now you guys are antsy about red tape being dealt with to get aid where aid is needed. Why does this bother you?
If Trump were governor and did the same thing, would you be so opposed to him cutting the red tape to get something worthwhile done?
They wouldn’t and couldn’t. He did send planes. They carried supplies that had been gathered by private organizations.
“The state also worked with groups to supply unspecified amounts of weapons and ammunition that were privately funded, Redfern said”
The governor’s office said it acted at the request of Israel’s consul general in Miami. Maor Elbaz-Starinsky, the consul general, initially said Thursday he did not request drones, body armor or helmets, nor had he talked to the governor about help getting weapons or ammunition through private parties.
Please don’t project. I do not represent some nameless Trump devotee. Right now there are conflicting narratives about DeSantis actions related to sending goods to Israel. I do not think we can discern the truth now since things have been misrepresented, corrected and the narrative may have been sanitized or embellished.
My point is that donations for humanitary aid are fine and there may be funds that can be used for that purpose without taking money that belongs to Floridians. Weapons are not part of that situation. Foreign affairs are a Federal not a State function. I also see a cynicism in claiming to take a leading role siding with Israel.
I side with Israel but I am not using questionable moves to enhance my political standing. To the extent that DeSantis has done so, I find fault. As above, the extent of grandstanding is unclear due to a combination of MSM malpractice and poor communication from DeSantis’ office.
So Florida taxpayers paid to send planes loaded with weapons donated by private orgs?
Washington’s not doing it. I’ve heard zippo from MAL. Someone has to do it.
I agree
