Noah Ney, a 16-year-old teenager, has been recently sentenced to more than 50 years. KTUL states that around ten charges have been imposed on him including firearm and drug possession and shooting with intent to kill. The charges stemmed from a shooting incident in April last year where he fired a shot at a 5-year-old girl.
Ney was arrested after the incident and in August 2023, he escaped from a Tulsa juvenile detention center. News On 6 stated that he was arrested three days after his escape. He was again sentenced to a year for his escape from the juvenile detention facility, as per Fox 23 News.
The legal documents stated that Ney was sentenced based on the evidence and witnesses who revealed a lot of details about his past behavior. KTUL reported that Ney is eligible for a judicial review hearing in five years which could reduce his sentencing.
DailyMail stated that Noah Ney was arrested in April 2022 after he shot a 5-year-old girl. The incident happened when the girl was at her residence in North Rockford Avenue and Ney fired a shot at the girl, injuring her in the neck and shoulder. He reportedly shot the girl so that he can join the Hoover Crips gang.
Metro reported that the girl was taken to the hospital and attorney Morgan Medders revealed that "a difference of an inch or two" could have led to her death. The outlet also stated that Ney had a criminal record since the time he was in middle school.
Ney was sentenced in 2022 for his involvement in the incident but he escaped from a Tulsa juvenile correctional facility in August this year. Ney was helped by another inmate named Ja'Koby Golston

Cruelty to animals is the sure sign of a sociopath. There was a kid in my elementary school who was cruel to cats. Years later we learned he sunk a kitchen knife in to another boy killing him.
These types are not redeemable by human standards. 50 years should cool his heals, if he survives, and if he gets out all we can hope is he is too old and weak to harm anyone else.

I don’t think a prolonged prison sentence is the right way to deal with this and similar crimes.
Unprovoked attacks on other humans, WHETHER OR NOT THEY RESULT IN RAPE, DEATH, OR PERMANENT INJURY, should be punished either by death or permanent removal from the community to a location where they can live, unsupervised, with others of their own kind.
I first thought of this when I read of the sexual assault and murder of an 11 year old girl in Florida. The murderer had a long rap sheet, but the key was his first arrest.
He grabbed a woman, hit her in the head with a rock, and dragged her into the woods to rape her. She fought him off and escaped, and because she was not raped or dead, he pled down to something like jaywalking and was let go.
That type of crime is very different from financial swindles, drug offenses, burglary, stealing, etc.
The first time someone slams a woman in the head with a rock and tries to rape her, the perp self-identifies as unfit to live among us. If he had been put down, as he should have been, that little girl would be alive today.
And putting us on the hook for a long prison term is very unfair. It’s expensive, he will hurt other people - prisoners and guards alike - and when he gets out he will do something bad again.
Maybe a 16 year old like this guy in the headline should have physical punishment instead of death - 200 lashes or the like, and maybe death or my prison colony for a second offense - but prison is not the answer.
The photo appears to reveal a ‘victim’ of fetal alcohol syndrome. He will never be able to adjust to civil society.
If he wasn’t before he went to juvie with the real criminals, he is now.
I was reading some court records from Victorian England not long ago and you’d be amazed at how many of the sentences simply ended in “Death”. And not just for rape, murder, etc, but for what we would consider “minor” offenses like burglary, theft, armed robbery, etc.
Some would get prison, or hard labor, or restitution, but usually those were for first offenses or if there was some extenuating circumstance, or gentlepeople pleading on their behalf. Otherwise, “Death” seemed to be the default penalty that judges were handing out like candy.
He’s eligible for a judicial review of his sentence in five years. No doubt some bleeding-heart parole board or Judge will eventually cut this kid loose, so he can go on another murdering rampage, and none of them will ever be held accountable for it.

Attorney Morgan Medders also said: "A neighbor testified to Noah causing havoc in the neighborhood by wearing gang colors and carrying guns and knives, and often pulling them on neighbors while threatening them."
