A large group of what appears to be teenagers gathered inside a McDonald’s in Fall River Wednesday. But after a manager asked them to leave, police got involved, arresting eight children, including pushing one to the ground and slamming another against a window.
“From the manager, if you just walked in, time to leave or you’ll be subject to trespassing and will be arrested,” a police officer can be heard saying in body camera footage obtained by MassLive after talking with the manager on Oct. 18.
Police estimated there were about 50 people in the McDonald’s, all under the age of 18. But none of the children appear to leave after the officer’s warning. Some appear to continue ordering food. Others continue standing in line waiting for the food they ordered.
“I’m not playing. Time to go,” the officer said.
He continues to try to tell the children to leave. The department said that officers gave the group more than 23 warnings before making any arrests.
“If you don’t start leaving, my handcuffs are coming on and first person I grab is going,” he said.
Fall River police said they were originally called to CVS at 1620 President Ave. because a large group of children were causing a disturbance. However, they had moved into a McDonald’s by the time police got there. Still, police went inside to make sure there were no additional issues.
In the body camera footage, a police officer can be seen approaching one of the children waiting to order food and tells them he needs to go and is not allowed to order food as the manager wants the crowd gone.

“A large group of what appears to be teenagers”
Okay, I know what group we’re talking about.
“Teenagers.”
If you read the story, it sounds like the pigs were in the wrong again.
I believe the place declared their place off limits after that, on nights where football was being played at home.
Children?
That is utterly retarded of you. The store manager wanted them cleared out. The cop gave them over twenty warnings. They responded with abuse, squaring off, vile language, inciting the crowd to resist, and then simply walking right back in and trespassing again.
The cops were more than patient with those menaces.
Unless of course, by pigs, you meant the “teens”.
“the pigs”
What?
Are we back 1968 at Berkeley?
“Children” Try “savages.”
Those are “Children”, like Hamas Soldiers are peaceful Palestinian civilians.
“Children”,... indeed./s
Why is it the “children” have their identities concealed, but the police, who could face reprisals, do not have their identities concealed?
yute
Jamaican slang for youth, young person or child.
*********************************************
Perhaps the term “yute” would apply.
Ain’t got a THING to do with Jamaica, it’s a Rush Limbaugh idiom.
It’s a My Cousin Vinny idiom that Rush re-purposed to great effect.
The article goes between teenagers when hanging around and inline ordering to children when arrested. Why not call them the flash mob they are
Typical Fall Saturday night from my high school days. Games were on Saturday and the McDonalds sat between rival schools. Occasional tussles but most of the kids from each school knew each other growing up through local little leagues and other extra-curriculars. And there was always a sherriff’s deputy parked nearby.
All the police had to do was lock the doors and collect ID’s. At some point they’d want to leave the building
