Tucker Carlson and Pro-Putin Guest Suggest Israel Is Committing ‘War Crimes’ and Mock ‘Moral Victories’

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and his guest, retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor, scoffed at the idea that the United States was scoring “moral victories” through its assistance of Israel and suggested that the world’s only Jewish-majority state was committing “war crimes” by bombing Gaza during an episode of the former’s show released on Monday.

After a conversation during which the two commentators argued that wiping out Hamas was an unrealistic goal, they said that the U.S. was hurtling toward war with Iran and bizarrely submitted that Turkey and Russia would be eager to join such a conflict on the side of Iran, Carlson adopted a mockingly inquisitive tone.

“But we’ll be, as we become impoverished and chaotic and subject to these terror attacks, we’ll be winning important moral victories, don’t you think?” he asked.

He continued:

This is the problem with collective punishment. This is the problem with annihilating Gaza and trying to sweep out its population. That’s unacceptable to us as Americans. I don’t think if you sat down any of Israel’s most ardent supporters in the United States and said, ‘Are you willing to trade the lives of several hundred thousand people in Gaza for the lives taken in Israel by Hamas?’ After all, Hamas and Palestinian Jihad were the fighters. They lost 1,500, there were 3,000 involved in the several waves of the attack. They’re dead. Now we’re looking at perhaps 5,000 civilians dead. How many more will we witness? Is that somehow or another justified morally?

So @BasedMikeLee retweets Tucker & Douglas Macgregor talking about how Israel is committing “war crimes” employs “collective punishment, [is]annihilating Gaza & trying to sweep out its population,” before equating the lives of Hamas’s sadistic butchers with the people they killed pic.twitter.com/InzHrKb4fM

— The Meturgeman (@HaMeturgeman) October 24, 2023

It’s unclear what Macgregor has that leads him to believe that all of the terrorists involved in planning, preparing for, and carrying out the October 7 attack on Israel are already dead.

At the outset of the Russian war on Ukraine, Macgregor submitted that Russia would win the war within a couple of weeks. He has also spread Russian propaganda by declaring that Vladimir Putin only invaded because Ukrainian military forces were massing at the Russian border and that the Russian leader has taken pains to avoid kill civilians in Ukraine.

As of July, over 9,000 civilians had been killed, and nearly 16,000 had been injured by Russia in Ukraine. The statistics cited by Macgregor about civilian casualties in Gaza come from Hamas.

Carlson and Macgregor join the ranks of far-left commentators and politicians such as Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Mehdi Hasan in suggesting that Israel has committed war crimes in its defensive war against Hamas.

I am skeptical of the claims made in this article.

You do know that the US doesn’t subsidize Finnish or Swedish defense spending, right, “twit”?

You're an idiot we pay the majority of the NATO costs, & the rest of them failed to pay even their stated share for years, so we paid many of the NATO members shares on top of our share.

You really are a know nothing simpleton.

So Sweden and Finland...which both have funded their own militaries for decades....somehow became so desperate for Uncle Sugar’s cash handouts that they purposely risked the enmity of the Russian Bear, the only power that could possibly threaten them?

Yeah, sure. Checks out.

Thanks for the post.

“what I did hear was a detailed discussion on war capabilities, strategy and the costs of invading Gaza and the unpredictable consequences that can follow.”

My concern is that Biden will manage the Middle East about as well as he managed Afghanistan.

In the long-term a two-state solution is a prescription for terrorism.

Reagan pushed and the Soviet Union fell. It was no coincidence. The very idea of defeating the Soviet Union was once roundly rejected, but then Reagan did it. Israel should annex Gaza. It may sound crazy now, but with the right President and right Prime minister, it could happen and becom the new normal.

“But the fact of the matter is that the invasion taking place of our country is far more detrimental to the survival of this nation than the outcome of Ukraine.”

I agree with you (and Tucker) on this.

They were protected even not being in NATO, and they knew it. But it still never hurts for them to join in their eyes. They were tired of paying their own protection costs. It will be far less under the NATO umbrella now without question. Neither Sweden nor Finland were ever subjugated to the U.S.S.R. They were trading partners with the western European countries. So, what would be their motivations for joining NATO, if not to have their security bolstered by NATO with less cost to them? It would have been a better move to make Russia a NATO nation, that way it ensured that Russia would be less inclined to attack a NATO member nation.

What exactly do you think these millions of military age men from places that despise the U.S. are going to do to you, your family, your friends, & your neighbors? It won't be pretty, but you can slap yourself on the back for facilitating it by being distracted by defending Ukraine that plays no role whatsoever in the security of this nation. If you really felt for the Ukrainian people, you would be demanding an end to this conflict. In fact, you would have demanded that the peace agreements that had already been hashed out be accepted by Ukraine and skipped this whole rotten proxy war in the first place. It would have been better for the whole world. But even more so for the Ukrainian people, as well as, the nation of Ukraine that would have remained intact.

But no, you neo-con fools think with violence, because you lack brains to think of real solutions. You must personally be heavily invested in the military-industrial complex.

Perhaps you will also agree that this administration is not an administration that can lead this nation anywhere except into the sewer. Look at what Democrats have done to our large cities. They whole country is headed into ruination under these clowns.

Sounds right.

One poster on FR wanted war until Russia was broken into little pieces. Morally and otherwise, it was one thing to want to break-up the Soviet Union, and it’s another thing to breakup Russia.

In football, there are penalties for late hits and pilling on. Democrats do it all the time. Reagan defeated the Soviet Union leading to its break-up. To gain some glory, Democrats want to defeat and break-up Russia.

The Radical Islamic Terrorists are all over Western nations.... Hamas and many other terrorist groups have sleeping cells over America, France, Sweden, EU.... you name it.

Yeah, but when the masses of Americans are ready to play "Cowboys and Muslims" we won't have to be cowering under our white flags.

American's own more guns and ammunition than the armed forces of the rest of the world combined. When we are finally ready to open the whole can of 'whoop-ass', the goat fornicating bastards are toast.

You’ll forgive me, but your response seems extremely long winded.

Both Sweden and especially Finland have centuries of conflict with Russia and have practiced absolute neutrality to keep out of East/West strife.

Nothing that you posted indicates why now, with post-Soviet Russia at its most militant, they would goad the bear (pun intended.)

They are both prosperous countries with advanced, self-funded militaries, and Finland has had mandatory conscription for years.

These aren’t chiseling third-world basket cases, and they have a cold-blooded appreciation for their big neighbor’s appetite for conquest.

Your comments in the second paragraph are not germane. What I want or demand or pray for is irrelevant to the countries in Russia’s path. Transnistria, Chechnya, and Georgia were just the build up to westward expansion and without Ukraine stopping them the next targets would be Poland and the Baltic states, for which Russia has expressed an imperial interest.

I feel for the Ukrainian people that which I’d feel for any sovereign people invaded by a powerful bully: let them be the ones to decide whether surrender is the best policy for themselves, but if they are prepared to fight then assist them.

That makes me a Reaganite, not a neo-con.

Yes you are right. America has the most armed population in the history of the world. And I thank God for that! Its the last thing able to save America from any military invasion.

Thank you for you excellent common sense analysis.
And so true, without Ukraine bleeding to keep the West free from relentless Neo-Soviet attacks and invasions, Poland and the Baltic States would probably be annexed by Russia already.

So... the true warmongering neocons are actually the ones running the Kremlin!
They are indeed the ones who have decided to ANNEX others’ territories and they are the ones fomenting endless for-ever wars.

Ukraine has never tried to invade and annex Russia. So clearly, THEY are not the warmongering aggressors here.

I’m a Reagnite as well, just like the silent majority of Republicans in America.
