The pic with the article would be declared ‘Fake News’ by most people after seeing the video of the hit. Right where the arrow is between the two circles is where the defender’s top side of his helmet blasts the receiver’s earhole. Based on the defender’s thug life history.... Bailiff!

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of issues with the referees to go around. This just isn’t one of them.

The officials seemed like they wanted to throw the game in GB favor. Why did this game have a suspicious touchdown that was the only one in the NFL that was not reviewed? I wonder how much on line sports betting has brought in fixing games by the bookies?

There is no coincidence that flag football will be part of the olympics. That is the direction the NFL is moving towards.

No, attempting to injure players is not his job. As the story notes, it’s worthy of a flag, so not his job. And for his suspension that’s what happens to repeat offenders. That’s the 2nd time this season he’s gotten ejected, plus 2 more fines, and he’s taken a lot of unnecessary roughness penalties.

Those of us who played decades ago, when blindside hits and headhunting was not only tolerated but encouraged, remember that today's players are so much bigger, stronger, and faster today. We had 300 pounders, but they were fat blobs, while today's 300 pounders have 34-inch waists and can run a sub-5.0 forty.

Today's football players work out year-round, have very little body fat, and come at you like a freight train.

Take the facemasks off the helmets and the game would be more civilized.

Looks like Black on White violence to me.
What kind of message are they trying to send?
Honestly.
This thing could REALLY teach kids that there are limits to what is allowed. (At least when an official is watching?)

I have long wanted football to be distilled into the sheer bloodsport that so many people seem to want anyway. I mean, who are we fooling? Football players are often referred to as ‘gladiators’ so why not just embrace the paradigm?

At the outset of the game the coin toss will take place and one team will take the ball.

Armed with swords, pikes, lances, and shields the two teams will hack and slaughter each other in mortal combat over the movement of the ball. Coaches on the sidelines will pontificate on ‘teamwork’ and sacrifice as their gladiators bleed all over the gridiron.

Fans will scream for more as limbs and heads are severed in battle and at the end of the game the victorious fans will shout about how “we” won the game all while they watched the bloody contest from the comfort of their seats and luxury boxes.

People who denounce the death, violence, lifetime injuries, and associated costs will be called out as pussies who don’t understand the virtues of teamwork and sacrifice that enables billionaire team owners to reap ever more wealth.

Seriously, at the very least I object to taxpayer support for this entertainment industry and I deeply object to the defacto immunity the NFL has when it comes to employee/player disability compensation.

What the player did was already borderline illegal under the old rules. A tackle by leading with the helmet has been been banned at both the college and NFL level for many years.
