Frankly, this is what the sentence should be every time some cop gets convicted of excessive force is to have to face the same force they handed out.
The eight cops who beat Tyre Nichols to death come to mind here.
Then they would be fine. Limiting the movement of the head by putting light pressure on the neck does not injure. It helps keep the head motionless, so the person in question does not bash their heads repeatedly in the pavement in order to claim brutality by cops. The autopsy report supports the notion that Chauvin did not do anything to harm Floyd.
I have been a witness to the attempt of a person to self harm themselves in order to make such a claim.
Tyre Nichols was a hit, either because the cops, in question, were hanger-ons for gangs or Tyre was making time with one of the women of the cops.

As long as they don’t have 4X the lethal dose of fentanyl in them they’d be fine.
Especially the ones that just stood there.
The autopsy report shows that Floyd was not injured, aside from skin scrapes from being on the pavement. Chauvin did not injure him.
An officer should not have to subject himself to arresting procedures, in order to show they are not harmful.
We can have whatever arresting procedures in place to enforce the law. We can put bouncy castles on the street to put perps into until they can be taken into custody.
But don’t complain about the crime rate if we do that. Don’t ask where the cops are when somebody is getting harmed, because we would be creating the conditions where more people are going to be harmed because of the policies.
If a person has a knife and is stabby, don’t bitch if the cops aren’t interested in stopping him because they might face prison time for being too rough. You can’t have it both ways, gentle arrests with punishment for cops for not being gentle enough, and expect the cops to protect the public.
Feel free to post the cause of death from the same report.

Floyd did not have 4x a lethal dose of fentanyl in his system. He would not have even been conscious.
If they do, will they be immediately released and compensated for their false imprisonment?
The cause of death was combined use of drugs that had multiple times the lethal dosage to kill a man. Floyd’s system just collapsed under his years of drug use.
If there is no physical damage, which there wasn’t, there isn’t going to be a physical cause.
