The autopsy report shows that Floyd was not injured, aside from skin scrapes from being on the pavement. Chauvin did not injure him.
An officer should not have to subject himself to arresting procedures, in order to show they are not harmful.
We can have whatever arresting procedures in place to enforce the law. We can put bouncy castles on the street to put perps into until they can be taken into custody.
But don’t complain about the crime rate if we do that. Don’t ask where the cops are when somebody is getting harmed, because we would be creating the conditions where more people are going to be harmed because of the policies.
If a person has a knife and is stabby, don’t bitch if the cops aren’t interested in stopping him because they might face prison time for being too rough. You can’t have it both ways, gentle arrests with punishment for cops for not being gentle enough, and expect the cops to protect the public.
