Caleb Williams Reportedly Wants Partial Ownership Of Whatever NFL Team Drafts Him

The Caleb Williams saga is going to be one that we're going to get tired of quickly. It's a unique situation. As long as Williams stays healthy and doesn't completely shit the bed, he will go number one in next year's draft. He's already got a Heisman Trophy, and now it seems like he's making demands.

About a month back, it was reported that Williams would consider staying in college if the Cardinals ended up with the number one overall pick. I think that's such an insane thing to entertain. It was like the first week of the season, why would you just randomly throw the Arizona Cardinals out there as a member of your shit list. But now it seems like he wants part ownership of a team.

Caleb Williams is a bold man. He played a terrible game last week against Notre Dame, but he is the most hyped quarterback prospect we've seen since Andrew Luck. I think he knows that he holds all the cards here, but will any teams be willing to pony up and actually give him equity? Aaron Rodgers is a multi-time MVP award winner with a Super Bowl in his back pocket, and the Jets still said no.

It’s just amazing to finally see the Lions as a well-run organization.

He absolutely lost me with that... and, he took Lincoln Riley with him, as well. Riley should have sent his ass back to the Locker Room and told him that he won’t step foot on the field until that crap was removed from his hands. The fish rots from the head down.

Probably the first time in years I rooted for Notre Dame to win a game. Heck I even rooted for Georgia and FSU, and Ohio State against Notre Dame.

Same here.... Notre Dame starts out every year overrated. This is the first time I have ever rooted for them.

The Bears fans are still mostly convinced that Justin Fields is the 2nd coming, except for the ones who want to start an undrafted rookie.

Now, if the Bears could trade Justin Fields AND the #1 pick as a package, that would probably work out well for them.

why would you just randomly throw the Arizona Cardinals out there as a member of your shit list.

It is not "random", it is acknowledging bad ownership.

Seventy-Five years since an NFL championship.

Elway figured the same thing with the Irsays (Colts), and Eli Manning would not play for the Chargers. Both have multiple rings to show for their good decisions. Smart on all counts.

Wanting to play on a team, and wanting partial ownership are incompatible. Even high draft picks are OFTEN busts (Ryan Leaf, Mitch Trubisky), injury prone (Bradford, Luck), or behavior cases (Deshaun Watson). If you give a player part of the team, that can mess with the salary cap, and also make trades next to impossible.

If your employee demands partial ownership of the company he better be increasing your profits by at least 10 fold

I like saying that my future DIL is an “NFL team owner”...because her grandfather bought each of the grandkids a share of the Packers!

If there was a loop hole, it would have been used by Tom Brady. Not some college draft prospect.

I have never rooted for Notre Dame--although I might if they ever play the Islamic University of Gaza.

Go, Trojans! Fight on and beat the Utes!

Good find!

Even without any share, I hope a big LB or DL smashes this narcissistic, arrogant ass into a puddle on the field.
