It’s a bad day to be a Democrat.
Democrat contenders Shawn Wilson and John Bel Edwards failed to keep the governorship in Louisiana, ultimately losing to Republican Jeff Laundry.
Laundry, who served as Louisiana Attorney General, won 50% of the vote threshold to avoid a runoff vote.
Political commentators say this is a sign of things to come in 2024. (snip)
Landry is known as an advocate for the Oil and Natural Gas industry. He criticized Democrats like former President Obama by saying, “Republicans continue to criticize the president for being anti-oil. He says that’s not true, but his actions don’t match his rhetoric.”
Landry made national headlines by holding up a sign saying “Drilling=jobs” during Obama’s national jobs plan speech in September 2011.

At least another demonrat is out of office:
Typical pisspoor writing, like that’s a surprise from MSN.
John Bel Edwards wasn’t in yesterday’s election; he’s our outgoing term-limited Rat slimeball governor.
Let’s see how he screw up a (R) victory
Maybe there is hope for this country.
In Louisiana, statewide elections are not necessarily determined by who is R or D but rather who is C.
R=Republican
D=Democrat
C=Cajun
In the River Parishes and Acadia, lots of conservative people vote C.
Edwards, Bel Edwards, Blanco, Foster, Landrieu.
The only exception may be Jindal, but he had a lock in the north and Jefferson Parish.
Stolen Election!!(/S)
You must not be from Louisiana. The most conservative parishes are in the north.
The democrats are in the metropolitan areas plus the northeast along the Mississippi River.
Governors have lotsa power these days. So it’s an important win.
If you want to look at the most Republican areas, of Louisiana, it would be Cameron Parish and then north along the Sabine.
Down in Acadia, they will vote for the Cajun, no matter the party.
Now, Kentucky should flip next month...
He really didn’t have any real Democrat competition.
He beat EDWARDS ‘man’
I’m voting for Cameron but people here are idiots. I suspect Bolshevik Beshear goes back to Frankfort for 4 more years.
