Time To Stand Up To The Lies And Propaganda Of The Electric Vehicle Zealots - Destroy 'Em With Facts

When is an EV not an EV? According to the talking heads of the electric vehicle world, it's a hybrid that finds itself identified as the cause of a massive fire that consumes 1500 cars and and an entire multi level parking structure. The Luton Airport fire is the shot heard around the automotive world. While the pro EV crowd is well funded, well organized and has no problem twisting facts to fit it's agenda, us Internal Combustion guys have a secret weapon on our side. The Truth.

“”Remember, that unlike ice vehicles, you have the choice of “refueling” at home.””

If the leftists ever actually achieve a State or a city with only EVs, the rationing of electricity is the next logical step. Your ‘carbon footprint’ total energy use (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and yes, lifetime) will be carefully tracked and limited. If you happen to say or think anything contrary to their mindset, your carbon (energy) allotment will decrease substantially.

The Ruling Class will still use gasoline, natural gas, and even coal.

Inexpensive and abundant energy equals more freedom, and that is anathema to leftists.

Shoving EV,s at us is like shoving airbags at us in the Model T era. Just not ready, the technology .

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!

There's nothing wrong with the concept of EV's.

The problem is that they aren't feasible. Yet. The technology doesn't allow for it and certainly isn't to the place where mandating or forcing them on everyone is going to work.

4 gallons of gas has more energy then the entire battery pack of a electric Ford F-150 pickup.

When EVs can go 500 miles on a charge and recharge in 10 minutes they will beat out ice in the minds of most consumers providing electricity is plentiful and cheap. Remember, that unlike ice vehicles, you have the choice of “refueling” at home.

One nice thing about being married and sometimes needing two cars is we don’t have to choose between ICE or EV — we have one of each. That gives us diversification on our energy dependencies (for transportation). If the Dims mess up one energy source, we’ll use the car that depends on the other energy source. That, combined with the fact that we have tons of solar power for our home, makes the EV for us valuable in our strategy to make our family more self reliant.

Of course, that’s not how the Dims are pushing EV’s. They’re trying to force conversion to EV’s while limiting grid power production. If one were to make all of your transportation dependent on EV’s without increasing power production, that person is asking to be a serf of the government.

The measurement of the temperature of gasoline (@ combustion) wouldn't even use the same method as would the measurement of temperatures of the controlled internal flash fire that an ICE's ignition stroke creates. When the spark plug fires, it ignites a compressed and volatile air-fuel mixture or vapor within the cylinders' sealed combustion chamber(s). This phenomenon serves to reverse the direction of the piston's stroke, which drives the journals of the crankshaft around via the piston-crank connecting rod, and in turn the camshaft lobes, which serve to operate the spring-loaded valve train. In the typical gasoline-powered ICE, a 4-stroke cycle of 1- Intake, 2- Compression, 3- Ignition (sometimes referred to as the "Power" stroke) and 4- Exhaust, is the order of progression as the engine operates as designed. An engineer might be able to develop a computerized engine test that measures the temperatures of both fuel and fire in the same run but the results would be referred to in separate comparable metrics that are not necessarily "coincidental".

I cannot wait to see the Zealot’s battery powered tank. The battery will have to be the size of a two story house.

“When EVs can go 500 miles on a charge and recharge in 10 minutes...” the amount of catastrophic discharges they cause will be increased enormously. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

I think EVs will be the second issue they are right about eventually.

Said no one ever.

Also, airbags are worthless unless you're wearing a seat belt.

The only thing they did was increase the cost of a vehicle astronomically.

The exploding diesel Range Rover conclusion seems odd to me. Diesel does not light like gasoline. And exploding diesel fumes? If is a fuel oil, not a distillate. You can throw a match on a puddle of diesel and it won’t light. Then, to have an electrical short at the same time at the very moment it is parked next to an electric vehicle seems a stretch to me. Who me? Not trust the media?

(Home mechanic for my two turbo diesel vehicles and never heard of such a thing on any forums anywhere)

“I cannot wait to see the Zealot’s battery powered tank. The battery will have to be the size of a two story house.”

There was a discussion thread recently on a prototype electric airplane with a range of 140 miles. This is nothing but subsidy mining. The range was of course laughable; what if they have to circle the airport a few times before landing? There were too many problems to enumerate them all.

I pointed out as a former engineer that this would never work and the young and ignorant and no terribly bright products of our public schools weighed in taking exception, their principal arguments for consisting of insults.

I recall (perhaps incorrectly) that an electric plane to replace a normal jet would need batteries that weigh 1900 tons. Whatever the weight, it would be massive and the EV airplane concept will never fly.

Investigators believe the blaze was started when a diesel car, thought to be a Range Rover, suffered an electrical fault or leaking fuel line.

Electrical fault OR leaking fuel? First, wouldn't you need both to start a fire?
Secondly, diesel isn't very flammable at all. A simple spark or even the lighter in your pocket isn't enough to ignite diesel fuel. There's extremely little chance it was a straight diesel vehicle that started the blaze.
