Time To Stand Up To The Lies And Propaganda Of The Electric Vehicle Zealots - Destroy 'Em With Facts

When is an EV not an EV? According to the talking heads of the electric vehicle world, it's a hybrid that finds itself identified as the cause of a massive fire that consumes 1500 cars and and an entire multi level parking structure. The Luton Airport fire is the shot heard around the automotive world. While the pro EV crowd is well funded, well organized and has no problem twisting facts to fit it's agenda, us Internal Combustion guys have a secret weapon on our side. The Truth.

Gasoline burns at a Maximum of less than 900°F. Not even as hot as those 1000° gourmet pizza ovens.
A 1 in 38k chance of an EV or hybrid catching fire. Still greater odds than being a victim of gun violence. (is Gayvid Hogg aware of this?)
The EV sycophants would no doubt cite how Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal's ICE powered Eldorado exploded, as re enacted in Casino. But this was not because of a design flaw inherent with IC engine. His car was doctored, an attempted mob hit.

Was it established that the fire was due to EV lithium batteries?

I had not heard of this fire so I did a quick web search and the only links that came up were from the major ‘news’ sources and thus unreliable.

EVs? Is this the hill we want to die on? The left has only been right about one thing in my 66 years. That was airbags. I think EVs will be the second issue they are right about eventually. Too bad they are trying to shove them down everyone’s throats while taking away the sources of electricity.

Ice vehicles run very very well. Highly reliable and comfortable. The truth is there is enough fuel to last 1000 years. You want man EV fine but in typical rat fashion they want to strip us of choice

“...a secret weapon on our side: The Truth...”
Which is immediately followed by an untruth:
“...Gasoline burns at a Maximum of less than 900°F...”

Gasoline flames can actually reach 1,800 degrees under ideal conditions.

There’s a zero percent chance that the left is “right” about replacing internal combustion vehicles with oversized power wheels toys.

When EVs can go 500 miles on a charge and recharge in 10 minutes they will beat out ice in the minds of most consumers providing electricity is plentiful and cheap. Remember, that unlike ice vehicles, you have the choice of “refueling” at home.

The problem is physics. To match the energy density of gasoline or fuel oils batteries would have to be basically controlled detonations of TNT to get that much energy moving. Then again, we have way smarter people like Biden and AOC in charge so I am probably wrong.

when electricity is plentiful

...... so .... never ?

If you realize the plan is to eliminate private vehicles ..not replace them with evs... then , yes there will be enough electricity.

EVs? Is this the hill we want to die on?

Why do you describe that as the hill we die on? Large majorities are against the moves toi make ICE cars unaffordable, and small numbers are buying EVs despite massive incentives.

"Hill we die on" is for taking a position that is difficult to win with. This is the hill THEY die on, if they insist.

MSM have definitely been hiding any facts; however, the following bits *** are interesting:

12 Oct: Daily Mail: Luton airport chaos ‘will last for DAYS’ after massive inferno caused by exploding Range Rover destroyed £20m multi-storey car park and sparked mass flight cancellations
By TOM PYMAN and MARK DUELL and JAMES FIELDING and RORY TINGLE
As many as 1,500 vehicles are feared to have been damaged after the car park, which has a capacity of 1,900, collapsed...

Investigators believe the blaze was started when a diesel car, thought to be a Range Rover, suffered an electrical fault or leaking fuel line.

***The fire then spread as a number of electric vehicles burst into flames, one firefighter suggested)...

The temperature of the flames soared well over the 600C (1,110F) that would destroy the building’s integrity, and one fire officer said it would have hit six million watts...

11 Oct: Luton Today: Eerie video shows aftermath of Luton Airport car park blaze
One person has managed to film the destroyed car park close up
by James Lowson
Bedfordshire Fire Service believes as many as 1,500 vehicles may have been affected by the fire, while one firefighter at the scene said: “We can’t get close enough to see. It’s too dangerous, it will probably fall down on you, ***so they will probably do an insurance job and bring it all down***.”...

An investigation to determine the cause of the fire is under way.

bingo!

the goal is to destroy private transportation

battery cars are a ruse to get rid of gas cars

they want to strip us of choice

The Democratic Party hates a democratic market, people free to vote with their dollars and feet. They love the most carbon and energy inefficient sector of the economy: big bureaucratic government, where job security is insured by opening the border to unlimited welfare takers.

More important than how the fire started is how the fire was made unfightable by the number of EVs parked there that caught fire. An expensive water sprinkler system would have accomplished nothing.

I wish it were possible to destroy ‘em with the facts, but the fact is, they are ideologic, and impervious to facts and logic.

What is that old saying, something like if you don’t admit you are defeated, then you cannot be defeated? (or something like that)

They simply don’t ever admit they are defeated, they just believe in unicorn farts and fairy dust and carry on the battle.

Personally, I would not be so completely and wholly against EVs, if it were not for the fact there is absolutely ZERO effort being put into developing the full energy generation and charging infrastructure to support it, but...there isn’t.

Am I wrong here? I have heard we need to build a huge amount of electricity generation capability (never mind the charging infrastructure and battery technology) to even prepare for the fabled 2035 EV stupidity goals.

Where are the plans for all the electricity generation? Leftists (and some on this forum) think electricity is generated by the ivory colored plastic plates with the little holes in them.

“ That was airbags. I think EVs will be the second issue they are right about eventually.”

Shoving EV,s at us is like shoving airbags at us in the Model T era.
Just not ready, the technology .

Up until last month I was working for a electric truck startup, and I can tell you NO ONE talks about where the power is going to come from to charge these things. They talk about charging, and growing the charging infrastructure all the time, but I guess they expect to power those charges with unicorn farts or something.

“destroy private transportation”

Yes it's no secret, we won't need all those gas guzzlers or coal burners in our new 15 minute cites.

We will own nothing ... and be happy

They have told us to our face and yet the world goes on ... with the attitude .. they don't really mean what they say.

YES .. they do mean it.
The mean to eliminate most of the worlds population.
That means ME and YOU and all the little useless twits that are advocating for them.

A great delusion has come on to the earth ..and it's deluding most people everywhere.

A man will rise to power out of all the kaos and confusion ... he will be assassinated ... and revived.
The world will wonder after him.
He will cause everyone to receive a mark ..

WOOOO WA ...where have I heard that before...

Is that the sound of horses thundering hooves I hear?
