George Soros’ Giant Globalist Footprint in Ukraine’s Turmoil

Billionaire investor/activist George Soros has a giant footprint in Ukraine. Similar to his operations in dozens of other nations, he has, over the past couple of decades, poured tens of millions of dollars into Ukrainian non-governmental organizations (NGOs), ostensibly to assist them in transforming their country into a more “open” and “democratic” society.

Many of the participants in Kiev’s “EuroMaidan” demonstrations were members of Soros-funded NGOs and/or were trained by the same NGOs in the many workshops and conferences sponsored by Soros’ International Renaissance Foundation (IRF), and his various Open Society institutes and foundations. The IRF, founded and funded by Soros, boasts that it has given “more than any other donor organization” to “democratic transformation” of Ukraine.

Reverend Wright #371: "America is being destroyed as if it was run by Idol worshippers.
And American “Conservatives” who worship the Constitution are part of the problem."

Reverend Wright #373: "But the Constitution is based on flawed Enlightenment premises, and was bound for failure.
An enduring nation can only be built by a unified God-fearing population.
The Constitution is a failed secular substitute for that."

And yet again you expose and reveal yourself as anti-Constitution, anti-conservative and anti-American, posing and pretending on Free Republic's site devoted to traditional conservative constitutional values.

I am amazed as to what in the heck you think you are doing here?

The US Constitution embodies the Age of Enlightenment and is its highest achievement, its most enduring legacy.
However humanly flawed, or not, the Constitution and related documents are who we are and always will be as Americans.

Without the Constitution there is no United States of America, there is only a loose collection of multiple groups in cities and states often at odds with each other and willing to put their own special interests ahead of the greater national good.
Without the Constitution the USA can only be united by tyranny and oppression.
So, if the Constitution fails & falls by anything other than constitutional processes -- i.e., amendments, a new constitutional convention, etc. -- then the United States will also fall, and our demise will not be as relatively peaceful and was the Old Soviet Empire in 1990.

That's why I'll say again, if you are here to advocate for the destruction of the US Constitution, then you can burn in heck -- and if such Bowdlerism offends you, then slither back under your rock, snowflake.

gleeaikin: "Total BS that it has now become a year round fundd raising effort.
I have been coming to FR more than 15 years and it was ALwAYS a YEAR roUND FUNDING EFFORT."

I agree.
I know nothing about Free Republic's internal situation or statistics, only what is obvious from the outside.

But it's easy to imagine that any site like Free Republic would have a rapid rise to popularity and influence, possibly peaking with the old Tea Pary era, just guessing.
Then we might expect a slow but steady decline in popularity, as us old-timers die off and maybe younger posters find more recent or modernized sites to frequent.
Still, FR's popularity doubtless rises and falls seasonally, depending on current events and issues posters want to vent about.

Where exactly Free Republic stands right now in these cycles of rising or falling popularity, I have no idea, but the suggestions from our pro-Russia posters that somehow conservatives who want to support Ukraine are causing a sudden massive exodus of other conservatives from Free Republic seems to me utterly ridiculous, just more typical pro-Russian propaganda lies.

Shameless lies which only serve to tell us how serious Russians are to defeat American conservatism in the very heart of our strongest bastion of Free Republic.

OKSooner: "Yes, and then some spooks from Langley Virginia facilitated a coup against the legitimate government of Ukraine and installed Zelensky as their stooge, whose primary qualification for being selected for the job appears to be that he is widely reputed as gay and can play the piano with his ***k, NTTAWWT."

This is completely insane nonsense -- Russian propaganda lies and nothing else.

To call events of the 2014 Maidan Revolt a "CIA coup" is just ludicrous.
In fact, the Russian stooge traitor, Yanukovych, tried to defeat the majority of Ukrainians' natural intentions to have closer economic ties with the EU (not NATO).
Yanukovych then fled to his true home in Russia and so was impeached constitutionally by Ukraine's parliament.

Since 2014, Ukrainians have held two regularly scheduled presidential elections, in 2014 and 2019, both certified as free and fair.
In 2019 Ukrainians elected a very popular TV actor and his "Servant of the People" party.
Americans have also, on occasion, elected actors to office, notably in 1980, a former Wild West cowboy actor.
There was nothing "CIA coup" about any of that.

OKSooner: "So how does that deal stand, when one of the signatories, the legitimate government of Ukraine, doesn't even exist anymore, and how do you expect any reasonable person to accept the premise of that argument, when Ukraine is run by a CIA stooge? "

Those words are 100% insane lies, the mere raging of a lunatic beyond the reach of any facts or reasons.

The truth is Ukraine had a constitutionally elected government which constitutionally impeached its Russian traitor stooge Yanukovych and then constitutionally elected a new president in 2014, Poroshenko.
All that while fighting a war against Vlad the Invader's troops and Little Green Men in Crimea and the Donbas.

Yanukovych was in fact manifestly a Russian stooge traitor to Ukraine.
There is no evidence of any Ukrainian leader as a "CIA stooge".
Such claims are the mere raging of the insane crazy-man who rules over Russia these past ~25 years.

OKSooner: "Maybe Joe will give you guys a unit citation that you can put on your CV for helping him keep his involvement in it all swept under the rug and for keeping his splendid little war going."

Sadly, Joe Biden is arguably the worst, weakest and most corrupt president in US history, and his stupidities have doubtless made our enemies bolder and our allies more fearful.
He is the best foreign asset that Vlad the Invader, or the CCP's Xi-snake or Iran's Moolah Mullahs have ever had in the White House.

And since weakness always provokes attacks by bad people, Biden's weakness has resulted in invasions or threats globally -- from Ukraine to Israel and threats on Taiwan.

Under a strong leader, like Pres. Trump, none of this would be happening because our enemies would be afraid to mess with us and our friends would take courage from our support.

Nevertheless, here we are today, for better or for worse, and we still must support those who depend on us, in Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan especially, regardless of what insane lies we see from enemy propagandists.

"OKSooner is definitely not a Russian troll. Knock off the accusations."

And yet... and yet... OKSooner is here posting Russian propaganda garbage straight from Vlad's Kremlin sewer pipe!
How does that even happen to someone of normal intelligence and decency, let alone self-professed FR style conservative?

Seriously, I don't get it.
What's wrong with these people that they so eagerly drink unfiltered Russian lies?

Who would do such a thing without some ulterior motives?

OKSooner: "Since you ax, just for starters I think Vlad stepped right into a stinking hsit-pot of a trap when he invaded Ukraine.
From our POV, it was the act of a paranoid dictator who could not countenance the prospect of NATO being directly contiguous with Russia.

In Vlad's thinking though, he cannot and will not accept the prospect of ANY military alliance bordering up against Russia, especially one that includes... well, you know... those people... the ones who are existentially superior to all other races, from the Russian POV... you know who I mean."

Again I ask, what is this nonsense?
Why should we care what "Vlad's thinking" is, it doesn't matter, any more than any other mass murdering empire building dictator's.
Such men are pure evil and must be opposed as much as possible because every victory for them makes opposing them the next time that much more difficult and costly in blood and treasure.

And what the heck does this refer to??

What?? Who?? Why is OKSooner afraid to name what he's talking about?
Who should we assume he means?

The fact is that Vlad the Invader's aggressive threats have helped increase the number of NATO countries bordering Russia from one to now six -- Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania & Poland -- with two more if we count Romania and Turkey.

None of this has anything to do with "ones who are existentially superior to all other races" and everything to do with Vlad the Invader's own insane threats, attacks and invasions of his smaller neighbors.

OKSooner: "$33T and counting, and here you guys are still wanting more for Zelensky and not a peep out of you about the invasion of our own country"

The effective invasion of our Southern border is a function of Democrat policy, it is not a failure, it's a feature for them and highly successful so far in their hopes to create a permanent Democrat one-party top-down rule over the USA.

As such, it has nothing to do with Ukraine and will not be changed in any way by our support for Ukraine, or lack of.
Our Southern Border will only be closed again when Democrats are removed from power in Washington, DC.
It's not about Ukraine.

OKSooner: "BTW when you go to Ukraine to enlist, be sure to take extra wool socks with you."

That is just insane talk.
The issue here is not, who will fight for Ukraine?
Ukrainians are totally willing to fight for their own independence.
The issue here now is whether the US should continue to send more aid to Ukraine, and that is at least debatable.

And the most important point to notice in these posts is that those who oppose aid to Ukraine simply cannot argue without the help of endless ridiculous insults and Russian propaganda lies.

That should tell us a lot about which side has the better arguments.

JonPreston: "Here we have BroJoeK putting up a spirited defense of George Soros.
Do you really need to know anything else about this guy?"

And there we had JonPreston posting a total lie by mischaracterizing my words as "a spirited defense of George Soros", when in fact they were nothing of the sort.

Seriously, where does such vicious lying come from, if not learned in a propaganda seminar somewhere?

Would you like to reconsider your insistence that Soro wasn't involved in Ukrane?

What George Soros said about Ukraine in a 2014 CNN interview

In May 2014, he spoke with CNN host Fareed Zakaria about his philanthropic efforts in relation to the conflict then occurring between Ukraine and Russia.

Zakaria first asked about revolutions among Eastern bloc countries in 1989 that led to the end of communist regimes in Eastern Europe.

"One of the things that many people recognized about you was that you, during the revolutions of 1989, funded a lot of dissident activities, civil society groups in Eastern Europe and Poland, the Czech Republic," Zakaria said. "Are you doing similar things in Ukraine?"

Soros responded: "Well, I set up a foundation in Ukraine before Ukraine became independent of Russia. And the foundation has been functioning ever since. And it played a — an important part in events now."

“His (Soros’) IRF doled out more than $100 million to Ukrainian NGOs two years before the fall of the Soviet Union, creating the preconditions for Ukraine’s independence from Russia in 1991.”

You make this sound like a bad thing. If some country had starved 3,000,000 of my friends to death, I would have welcomed any help available to get independence.

“...his supposedly philanthropic “democracy-building” projects in Poland, Russia, or Ukraine in the 1990’s allowed Soros the businessman to literally plunder the former communist countries’ wealth.”

I imagine the Russian oligarchs have plundered a lot more wealth from the people than even Soros might have. Also from recent reports on foreign ownership of farm land in Ukraine, even US corporations have been dipping into the gravy train. Are these land grabbing US corporations Democrat or Republican owned/run?
