Yup... But they’re calling a it ‘spectrum’... Meaning that everybody is now ‘autistic’. There was a time when autistic children were easily identifiable... Now they walk and talk and read and write... I have a friend who has an autistic boy... He can’t do any of those things. The boy doesn’t say ‘I’m autistic’, because he can’t... He can barely communicate.
I would support the point that orthodox medicine has been bastardized by many effects, possibly even the lure of $$ in said diagnoses.
Several factors. We are getting better diagnosis for it now because we have more information about it.
That said. Our society is different now. We are less social than we used to be. Most families average 1-2 children. And they're less social. Addicted to technology.
I agree. I have a friend with two Autistic children. Her son is severely autistic and non-verbal. Her daughter is slightly better with limited verbal skills, an IQ of 93, but has horrible behavioral issues. She is extremely violent and is institutionalized. Much of what they deem as high functioning autistic today is what I always saw as the asocial, engineer personality growing up (I have lots of friends who are engineers, there is a type, personality wise).
The schools get paid for all these "sick" kids...and counselors love the big bucks.
A friend and his wife told the school to go to hell when they said their daughter should be put on Ritalin. And that "hyper" child wound up being a doctor.
Autism in its current definition is a complete scam. Meant to get shrinks(crazy leftists who can’t get a elsewhere) more cash, put more people on drugs, and get screwls more funding.
A lot of “autistic” people aren’t. I’m one such person. Elon Musk is another. Perfectly standard humans, with a slight twist on though process and in my case, poor handwriting.
It’s just liberals trying to label and categorize humans because its what they always do. Makes them feel special to have the power
I know someone with 3. All of her children are autistic and she was born with birth defects. 2 are completely non-verbal. Getting a diagnosis can grant you some concessions especially in education. It’s like winning the lottery. I’m ASD and all we got was beat up.
Kids also want to be designated LGBT because “Pride” and protections that come with it. Any assault can be labeled a Hate Crime and guarantees prosecution.
Meaning that everybody is now ‘autistic’.
