Egypt did not ever warn Israel of a major attack from Gaza in the days leading up to the current war with Hamas, an Egyptian official told the newspaper Al-Shuruk on Wednesday.
This is despite previous reports, which claimed officials in Cairo had warned senior Israeli officials in advance.

People just don’t want to admit the depravity of their own governments.
They want to believe the dirt they live on is magical, populated with wonderful and moral people.
The Israelis are a fairly close-knit society. It is a fairly small country. Most people know people or have relatives in other parts of the country. If intelligence operatives saw evidence of an incoming invasion, then they would report this to their superiors who would, in turn, report to their superiors. The Hamas incursion was so vast that many IDF posts should have recognized this. Hundreds and perhaps thousands of people would have to have been in on the plan. Up to the top levels of government.
And not one said a word to anyone about it? No one leaked to a family member perhaps in the danger areas? Each intelligence official has a family. And this family has family. The potential population of those affected could be vast.
And no one cracked the scheme to try to save his family or a friends's family?
Not one alerted the media? They would let their wives and children be slaughtered to advance some nefarious political agenda?
This does not seem plausible to me.
Absent some tangible proof, I'm sticking with number 2.
Indeed. There are a number of scenarios that would explain the intelligence failure without invoking some huge, self-destructive "deep-state" conspiracy. If there were such a conspiracy, given the monumental carnage and misery, someone would have revealed it by now. That's how I see it.
If you’re correct, Mossad is the most incompetent bunch of people ever.
Claiming that they are the best ever one day, and then thousands of signals were missed by hundreds of intelligence professionals is nonsense.
It’s also contradictory how “retarded savages” outwitted Mossad.
Then there’s every other intelligence agency from the West.
We are both speculating, so I’ll stick with number three.
Let's not forget that these savages had significant training and assistance from more sophisticated countries, specifically Iran and Russia (The Wagner group specifically). I've seen quite a bit of evidence of this.
The legendary Mossad is composed of people. And people are not perfect. Mossad has had many successes and yet failures as well.
Next to the folks who were running the country on 9/11.
I disagree. 19 men with box cutters is harder to see than thousands of rockets and thousands of men.
Both are total failures, if they’re actual failures.
I still think both were allowed to happen.
“This is despite previous reports, which claimed officials in Cairo had warned senior Israeli officials in advance.”
Early reports are, well, early reports.
Friend of Obama official ?
Your comment brings to mind an tale from the early days of the space race. It seems that ball-point pens would not work in zero gravity so the FedGov spent millions to design a writing device suitable for use in space. Meanwhile the Russians also discovered the same problem and solved it by issuing pencils to their astronauts.
No one in their right mind thinks that Israel just happened to miss hundreds of men undergoing paraglider training and other combat training. No one in their right mind thinks that a virtual blizzard of articles appearing within a few hours of the start of the attack blaming it on Iran and calling for war with Iran happened spontaneously. It’s also interesting that this occurred when Israel was deeply divided over the changes to their Supreme Court, now that all appears to be forgotten as they unite in grief and military action.
of course they’ll deny it. Are they going to admit to treason?
Currently watching. The rooster must be drunk - still crowing.
The Israeli recon drone continues to fly its circuit.
