I'm of 100% Irish blood going backs hundreds of generations. I also had a decades-long career at a world famous medical school. I know far more than I care to about the Irish and alcohol.

And BTW...it's not just the Irish. Studies have shown that the Scots,Scandinavians and Russians also have huge problems with ethanol.And studies have confirmed that it's at least partially genetic.

According to the University of Hong Hong Medical school 1 of 4 Chinese (Including my wife) cannot metabolize alcohol. She gets fall down drunk on 1/2 a glass of Champaign.
