NATO has published an article by a retired American defense official, which calls on the bloc to fight and win a limited nuclear war against Russia. Should the US and China clash over Taiwan, the author claims that a full-scale war in Europe would likely follow.
The article was written by Gregory Weaver, who served as the principal nuclear and missile defense advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Did you read the actual article? It’s talking about deterrence, not advocating war. The inflammatory first sentence of the OP article is dishonest and misleading.

Lots of nations of the world care not one whit about the welfare of its citizens.
Many leaders will see their nation in ashes rather than give up power or privilege.
The survivors will gladly wait out the devastation to rule over the ashes with the food and guns they’ve stored away.
