NATO has published an article by a retired American defense official, which calls on the bloc to fight and win a limited nuclear war against Russia. Should the US and China clash over Taiwan, the author claims that a full-scale war in Europe would likely follow.
The article was written by Gregory Weaver, who served as the principal nuclear and missile defense advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

every nuclear war event in history has been limited... and there has only been ONE nuclear war... WW2 and the wipe out of Japanese Cities.

There is far too much fear of “Maxi Nuke War”. Instead, there seriously needs to be more policy development for “Mini Nuke War”.
“One thing leads to another” is not necessarily true with nuclear use. Especially if it is a small, tactical use with an ordinary target, instead of one promised to be escalatory.
For example, a naval nuclear mine. If used against a US aircraft carrier, it is clearly provocational. But if used near enough to water damage disable the fleet accompanying it, does it demand nuclear retaliation?
Russia is currently bragging about nuclear torpedoes that can generate a tsunami. But unless they said they did it, can we prove it?
