Side Bar:
Mary Tyler Moore’s first regular television role was as a mysterious and glamorous telephone receptionist in Richard Diamond, Private Detective. It is erroneously reported that in the show her voice was heard, but only her legs appeared on camera, adding to the character’s mystique.[27] Her legs appeared in episode three of the third season, but she was cleverly shot above the waist in other episodes with her face at least partially hidden. David Jansen played Diamond.
I always prefered Johnny Dollar, the man with an action packed expense account
I’m listening to Cary Grant on Suspense now; before that I was listening to a Bob Bailey as Johnny Dollar serial; before that I was listening to Dick Powell as Richard Diamond - how serendipitously weird…
I always liked his Dante’s Inferno TV series. He just didn’t make enough of them.

Actually, memory of Dick Powell’s Zane Grey Theater much
stronger.
Thanks for posting. I love listening to old-time radio shows now and then.

Ever see The Tall Target? Very good movie.
Memory fails me on this. Remember seeing several films regarding the assination of Lincoln, but not by this title.
Dick Powell, on the train carrying Lincoln to Washington to be inaugurated, helps to foil an assassination attempt. Some history to the premise of the movie. I could have sworn I’d seen the full movie on YouTube. Not there now, only clips.

Hey, I found this on The Tall Target. Worth watching if you have the opportunity.

Attempted your link leading me to TCM intro w/Robert Osborn
intro of the movie. Then it was Osborn introducing the next entitled DAMES w/Powell. Searched thruout the net and archive.org nothing found but this clip with closed caption.

One interesting comment by RO certainly makes us scratch our
heads. D Powell’s character in The TALL TARGET was known as
John Kennedy. Just one more link of JFK/AL to add to the many? Thanks for your attempt.
That Kennedy/Lincoln coincidence reminded of this. I hadn’t heard or thought of it in 50 years.

I was sitting at home with the mumps watching General Hospital with my mother when the news came. I was seven but was well aware of the sense of national tragedy. Similar to 9/11.
Holycow! Whatta goldmine! TYVM!
GH -that was long before Luke and Laura....right? Don’t believe these two became an item until the early 70s
The city of Dallas basically shut down that weekend. EVERYTHING remained unopened...from the clubs to the movie
theaters.
