Donald Trump calls for Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman to be JAILED for pulling the fire alarm during crucial government shutdown vote - and compares him to January 6 protestors: 'When will his trial begin?'

Donald Trump demanded that Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman be thrown in jail for pulling the fire alarm during a key government shutdown vote - arguing his transgression may have been worse than the January 6 riots.

'Will Congressman Jamal [sic] Bowman be prosecuted and imprisoned for very dangerously pulling and setting off the main fire alarm system in order to stop a Congressional vote that was going on in D.C.,' Trump posted to Truth Social one day after the incident.

'His egregious act is covered on tape, a horrible display of nerve and criminality. It was a very dangerous "Obstruction of an Official Proceeding," the same as used against our J-6 prisoners.

'Actually, his act may have been worse. HE MUST SUFFER THEIR SAME FATE. WHEN WILL HIS TRIAL BEGIN???'

Bowman has served as the representative for New York's 16th congressional district since 2021.

The district covers a large swathe of the north Bronx as well as the southern half of Westchester County, including Bowman's hometown of Yonkers.

He set off the fire alarm on a door at the Cannon House Office on Saturday.

The House was about to vote on a bipartisan bill to keep the government open for 45 days and avoid a shutdown.

The bill had overwhelming Democratic support but members of the party were buying time to read it once it was unveiled by Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

The House Administration Committee soon after released a surveillance image that showed Bowman reaching for the alarm.

The Committee manages daily operations for the U.S. House of Representatives and also oversees the Capitol Police Board.

Bowman's office insisted that he had activated the alarm by mistake.

'When will his trial begin?'

Never. Hard to have a trial when there are no charges and will be no charges.

Capitol Sources: Jamaal Bowman Threw Signs Warning Door
Was an Emergency Exit Only.... Before He Pulled Fire Alarm

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) ripped down two signs which warned a second floor door in the Cannon House Office Building was for emergency use only......he then pulled the fire alarm which triggered an evacuation. His plot to delay the House budget vote foiled, he ran out through a different door on a different floor, Breitbart News has learned exclusively.

Multiple sources familiar with the investigation into Bowman pulling the fire alarm in the House, which triggered a full scale law enforcement and emergency services response leading to the evacuation of the building, told Breitbart News exclusively that Bowman ripped two signs down and threw then on the ground first.

The sources familiar with the investigation provided Breitbart News with photographs of the scene of the alleged crime later after the emergency door had been restored after the damage Bowman did to it.

In photos of the double doors with glass windows, there are clearly two giant red signs on the door—they both say “EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY—PUSH UNTIL ALARM SOUNDS (3 SECONDS) DOOR WILL UNLOCK IN 30 SECONDS.”

There is also another sign on a stand in front of the door that makes it clear this is an “EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY.”

Off to the left on the wall is the fire alarm that Bowman pulled. The bright red fire alarm clearly states it is a FIRE alarm.

The photograph of Bowman pulling the fire alarm, which Capitol Police already released publicly, shows the two red signs that are normally affixed to the door are no longer there.

A source familiar with the matter said, as the House was holding open the House Democrats’ motion to adjourn vote earlier in the day, Bowman casually walked up to the door and then ripped the emergency signs off and threw them on the ground.

“He ripped both of them off the door and threw them both on the floor,” the source familiar with the investigation told Breitbart News.

“Then, he leaned into the door and tried to open it,” the source added. “Then, he pulled the fire alarm. When the alarm begins going off, he turned around and ran—going down to the first floor of Cannon and exited out of a different door then made his way across the street to votes.

At no point did he say to anyone ‘sorry this is a mistake’ or ‘sorry I pulled the fire alarm by mistake’ or anything like that. He didn’t say anything to anyone until he was confronted by Capitol Police later. By doing what he did he caused a whole building to be evacuated. Capitol Police and emergency services need to treat any alarm like a real threat until they know otherwise.”

These facts undercut Bowman’s official public statement that he was trying to get out of the door. He did not, per the source familiar with the matter, wait the 30 seconds the signs said to wait for the emergency door to open—and he clearly did not follow the instructions on the emergency signs.

Bowman later tells reporters “I thought the alarm would open the door.”— Juliegrace Brufke (@juliegraceb) September 30, 2023

That statement from the congressman himself came after his spokesperson had previously issued a statement claiming he was rushing to get to votes on the floor.

“Congressman Bowman did not realize he would trigger a building alarm as he was rushing to make an urgent vote,” Bowman’s spokesperson said. “The Congressman regrets any confusion.”

Obviously, the sign says otherwise.

FBI raid to seize his electronic devices to see if texts, e-mails set up a conspiracy. If it was a mistake, he is too dumb to serve.

Bowman trashed federal property by ripping down federal signs to hide his activities, made false statements to police and, with malice aforethought, nakedly attempted to obstruct a govt proceeding.

Playing dumb, Bowman—who has been in Congress for nearly three years, knew about “emergency doors” and was keenly aware of the Dem rush to delay votes—so he maliciously pulled the fire alarm as part of a delay tactic to help buy the Democrats time.

REALITY CHECK

House Democrats were desperately using every tactic extant
to delay the vote on Repub’s funding bill vote including:
<><>their motion to adjourn vote ...... which failed,
<><>Hakeem Jeffries “magic minute” time-waster, allowing the opposition to speak as long as they like,
<><>and disinformation Dem staffers were ordered to disseminate about the bill

The Dems needed to buy time for their counterparts in the Senate time to pass a Democrat funding measure to provide billions of taxpayer dollars for Ukraine, whereas the House-passed plan provides zero dollars for Ukraine.

Upshot. When Dem delay tactics failed, and the House passed the GOP funding plan, wily Democrats changed their tune and began singing its praises—even though it provides zero money for Ukraine—and once they recognized defeat, they voted for it and blithely claimed “they won.”

He was a school principal for ten years. I wonder if any of his students were caught pulling the fire alarm and were punished for it.

IT wasn’t, the problem is that if he has a trial in D.C., you won’t find 12 people who will vote to convict a democrat.

That really is a juvenile stunt. We have children working in our government. It would be like pulling the high school fire alarm, so you wouldn’t have to take the semester final.

Since Trump wants him jailed, that means he most likely never will be, at least not for this. We live in an era where petty, spiteful attitudes are permitted to rule and to flourish.

If this Dem could be made to resign, I’ll be satisfied just with that. Resign, with no permission to run again for X number of years.

Creating a false fire alarm is a misdemeanor in the District of Columbia and punishable by up to six months in jail. “No one in this country is above the law,” Bowman himself said just months ago in tweet attacking former president Trump and applauding his various indictments.

In addition to the false report emergency misdemeanor charge, pulling the fire alarm could also possibly constitute illegal obstruction of congressional proceedings — a federal felony, according to the Washington Examiner.

Bowman could be also potentially be charged with obstruction of justice under D.C. law, which includes “corruptly, or by threats of force, any way obstructs or impedes or endeavors to obstruct or impede the due administration of justice in any official proceeding,” according to the outlet. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he would call for a probe into the matter by the House Ethics Committee.

“This is the United States Congress, not a New York City high school. To pull the fire alarm to disrupt proceedings when we are trying to draft legislation to AVERT A SHUTDOWN is pathetic…even for members of the socialist squad,” Cong Malliotakis wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Imprison him without trial for years, then try him and convict him. Then keep him in prison for at least 22 years. Seems only fair.

What Bowman did was MUCH worse than anything done on Jan 6th (except for the murder of Ashlee Babitt).
However, he’s a democrat and you can bet your bottom dollar he’s already faced the worst of the discipline he ever will.

"He was a school principal for ten years. I wonder if any of his students were caught pulling the fire alarm and were punished for it."

That's very interesting, so he can't claim ignorance since as Principal, he was responsible for making sure every teacher (and student) knew where the fire alarms, extinguishers, and hoses were, along with the location of the emergency exit doors, and which doors they were required to take their students through, and where to assemble them outside the school. Not only that, but I'm guessing he was also required to make sure there was an evacuation plan posted in every classroom, along with the mandatory wall signs, and overhead signs posted to give direction where the emergency exists were. I'm sure all of that was part of the school district's regulations required of him as a Principle in regards to fire safety, and other emergencies that could occur within the school.
