A middle-aged man dealing with both unemployment and
divorce, William Foster (Michael Douglas) is having a
bad day. When his car breaks down on a Los Angeles
highway, he leaves his vehicle and begins a trek
across the city to attend his daughter's birthday
party. As he makes his way through the urban landscape,
William's frustration and bitterness become more
evident, resulting in violent encounters with
various people, including a vengeful gang and a
dutiful veteran cop (Robert Duvall).

Guilty pleasure!
Great movie. My friends thought it was based on me (except for the end of course).
Good movie, actually.
I tried recreating the McDonald’s scene once as a joke. No one laughed because I guess they hadn’t seen the movie.
Michael Douglas is a leftist. I’m sure he enjoyed playing the right wing ‘victim’. So why did Robert Duvall have to be in the flick?
One of my favorites.
Then there’s the 3-4 Legal Weapons’ flicks. The bad guys are CIA trained. Next one had bad South African diplomats. 3rd was something about refugees coming here. All had a strong message of. the left. So why did Mel Gibson participate in this sham. The first one was ok and he was good.
Falling Down is a movie library must have.
The last Leathal Weapon. A picture being taken of all the friends in the hospital celebrating Rene Russo giving birth. “We’re family!” Yeah right.
This and Douglas’ THE GAME considered two of his best.
IMHO
I actually own it on dvd. It’s one of my personal favorites.
Because he’s an actor that has to work with other actors. Ted Nugent said he got along well with other rock stars who were extremely left wing, even though he knew they were lunatics.
.
I enjoyed the movie when it came out but at the time it seemed to me that about halfway through the film, they realized how perfect it was and that they were making a conservative’s dream film and so they suddenly started weakening it and altering its path.
Awesome. I’ve been wanting to watch this again.
Thanks for posting!
Linky no work.
The Game was great. A real mind bender with plot twists on par with some of the M. Night Shyamalan movies (Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, etc).
