He doesn’t have the authority. Criminality is a states rights problem. He should identify it and place blame for the sttes policies that are failing concerning law enforcement but make it clear even if he wanted to help, his hands are tied by the Constitution.

The Posse Comitatus Act prohibits using active duty personnel to “execute the laws” and with the lack of local law enforcement, the assets he can actually send in for state use would be limited. Let’em eat skit and die with it. It has to hurt enough to change votes.
