WASHINGTON, Monday, Sept. 28.
The latest advices from Gen. ROSECRANS, dated yesterday afternoon, state that the enemy has made no attack since the 21st inst., and Gen. ROSECRANS is not now in any fear of being attacked.
Quartermaster-Gen. MEIGS arrived at ROSECRANS, headquarters on Saturday, and upon invitation examined the position of the army. He declares that it cannot be taken short of a regular siege, which BRAGG does not seem to be attempting.

The Republican of to-day says that dispatches have been received at Gen. ROSECRANS' headquarters dated yesterday afternoon, which state that he is all right in a natural stronghold, from which he cannot be removed. Also, that the enemy has made no attack since the 21st.
Up to 2 o'clock to-day nothing of especial importance has been received from Chattanooga.
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Monday, Sept. 28.
Trains from the front are bringing in wounded men and Confederate prisoners. Up to date about 1,300 rebels have arrived here, among them Col. J.J. SCALES. Thirtieth Mississippi regiment, Maj. J.C. DAVIS, Eleventh Tennessee, and Maj. W.D.C FLOYD, of MCNAIR's brigade, together with five Captains and eighteen Lieutenants. Among the Captains is E.D. SAYRES, Chief Engineer of POLK's corps.
Over 5,000 wounded have reached here since Wednesday. The churches and halls, vacated some weeks since by our sick and wounded, are again taken for the same purpose.
Communication by telegraph has not yet been opened with Chattanooga. Guerrillas are very numerous near Columbia.
Major FITZGIBBON, of the Fourteenth Michigan, arrived here to-night with 38 prisoners: among them one Captain and two Lieutenants of WHEELER's Staff. He reports all quiet in front. Our forces were still fortifying.
