Are aliens controlling us in a computer game? Leading UFO expert says the theory would explain the different world religions

Scientists have floated the idea that humans live in a computer game controlled by aliens, and a UFO expert has suggested that would explain the multiplicity of religions on Earth.

Nick Pope, who ran the British Government's UFO project in the 1990s, told DailyMail.com that the simulation theory would be why beliefs vary.

He explained that the intelligence behind what we call our reality may have assigned different tasks to different designers, and mistakes could have been made in the programming - causing us to have contrasting ideologies.

'Often in cosmology, there seems to be a disconnect between theory and observation,' said Pope.

'In religious terms, it would be as if several different gods all had a hand in creating the universe, and all had their different styles.'

Replace "aliens" with "demons" and replace "computer game" with "virtual reality simulation."

Is it still insane or stupid OR is it just hard for a human to imagine?

BTW, there is in physics a "simulation hypothesis" that suggests that we are living in a simulated reality. And it isn't a recent development (goes back to Plato and beyond).

And, with respect to “alien” encounters, the only religion the “aliens” refute, condemn and criticize during their interactions with “contactees” is Christianity. It is well documented that calling out the name of Jesus and asking for his help makes these “aliens” stop dead in their tracks and immediately flee.

Why? Because they are not “aliens” from another planet. They are demons and their actions are part of the great deception.

I define holiness as an awareness of consequences and abiding by them to live a good life, while improving society. The more holy a person is, the more the smaller consequences matter. For example, you might choose to not participate in premarital sex because her father will kill you if he finds out...because of the risk of a baby being conceived....because you don’t want to hurt her... because you want to leave her in a state that she can present herself as her best...Such a person can be said to be more holy than the previous people, even if he isn’t holy by definition.

Those are right motives, but that is not Biblical holiness, which goes beyond natural consequences as motivation, and even despite them, for it is ultimately driven by his relationship to God and what His will is. Joseph's response to a women who wanted his body was,

"There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" (Genesis 39:9)

Even if, like a king's son, one can commit sins without suffering earthly consequences, yet their is that which is eternal:

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. (Hebrews 11:24-26)

And ultimately the purest motive to live holy is not one affected by fear of negative consequences, but of love for God,

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

Out of which we should be willing to go to Hell if that would give God glory, which the giving omniscient omnipotent God does not need, (Acts 17:25) but which is only right and what is best for man to seek to live for.

Thanks. I’ll stick to the facts: God created heaven and earth. We humans screwed it up by rejecting Him and His guidance for our lives. That began with Adam and Eve. He gave us His son, Jesus, who paid the full price for our sins...and most of us still reject His sacrifice, the reality that He provides us. Our real reality is we live in a fallen world, that the life of our world is finite, and that our only hope is to accept Jesus Christ as our savior. There is life after death, eternal life: either in heaven or in hell. They are real places, absolute destinations for each of us. And the only ones who end up in heaven are those who have accepted Jesus as their savior.

We, in our rebellion against God, make the simple complex. God makes the complex simple. It’s all about Jesus and our relationship with Him.

God gave me a glimpse of Heaven once where my whole being was filled with a feeling of indescribable Joy and Jesus wrapped me in his arms a time or two as well. As much as I sometimes question the words of the Bible and the nature of God (Lord have mercy on me) I cannot deny my true experience and feel blessed to have them imprinted on my soul.

“Or that this “UFO expert” has dropped too much acid. Where do you go to become an expert on UFO’s”?

He came from England but he moved to the United States in 2012. He writes books. You make more money here on books I think.

His wife is an anthropologist. “In 2004, Weiss became a fully tenured professor at San Jose State University.

In April 2021, Weiss gave a presentation at the Society for American Archaeology virtual annual meeting titled “Has Creationism Crept Back into Archaeology?” She claimed during the presentation that NAGPRA gives control of scientific research to the religious beliefs of contemporary Native American communities.

In February 2022, Weiss sued San Jose State officials claiming that they retaliated against her for her views and restricted her from accessing skeletal remains that she was studying. She is being represented by a lawyer from the Pacific Legal Foundation”.

So, lets see, she is against creation being taught in school, got kicked out for it and used to be married to J. Philippe Rushton.

J. Philippe Rushton is another interesting character and no conservative would’ve been married to this guy. He died in 2012 so he is gone now and she then was free to marry that ‘leading UFO’ guy Pope, but “Rushton was a Canadian psychologist and author. He taught at the University of Western Ontario until the early 1990s, and became known to the general public during the 1980s and 1990s for research on race and intelligence, race and crime, and other purported racial correlations.

Rushton’s work has been heavily criticized by the scientific community for the questionable quality of its research, with many academics arguing that it was conducted under a racist agenda. From 2002 until his death, he served as the head of the Pioneer Fund, an organization founded in 1937 to promote eugenics, which has been described as racist and white supremacist in nature, and as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. He also published articles in and spoke at conferences organized by the white supremacist magazine American Renaissance”.

Sorry for the long post but I thought it an interesting background to these people.

One more thing. Nick Pope has been on Coast to Coast AM where we see what crowd thinks of him as a UFO expert.

I completely agree with your statement that its all about Jesus and our relationship with him.

But that isn't a logical response to the question that was posed.

The Bible tells us that we ARE being manipulated (gamed) by demons (tempted to sin) and it (the Bible) even paints our reality as something akin to a simulation created by God. This world/reality is temporary and we go to a state of permanence (eternity with God) after we leave this world.

In fact, God even tells us not to get too involved with this reality because it isn't permanent.

As you may know, most of an atom is empty space (that is, the electron cloud around the very, very tiny nucleus). Our world is made up of atoms and atoms are mostly empty space. In other words, it is a kind of simulation. Things only seem solid because the electrical charge of your body is repelled by the electrical charge (electrons) in the object you are touching.

You see things only because, when light strikes a body of atoms (a tree for example), some of the light is absorbed by the atoms' electrons and some of it is repelled. Your eye senses the light that has been repelled/reflected.

Thx much and back atcha.

Our God is amazing, isn't he?

What amazes me is that scientists and mathematicians aren't blown away by his handiwork. I'm just an amateur who watches videos and, to me, God's creation is unspeakably beautiful.

You'd think the real smarty pants would be as amazed as I am.;-)

Just another note: What really amazes me is that the Creator of all this--the world, the entire universe, and probably much, much more--loves us so much that he would go to the Cross for us. I am dumbfounded when I just think of it.

I mean, I really love my animals (I've got a bunch of em), but to think that the creator of the universe loves you and me infinitely more than I love my animals (and I really love my animals)...well, you know what I mean.

It is easy for forget when we go about our daily activities that God is watching each of us and really, really loves us.

As said, blows my mind.

One thing I remember about Art Bell that is unlike Noory, he took his guests claims with a grain of salt, often demanding proof even though they were unable to give any. He wasn’t so much a crackpot himself as a skeptic. He just provided the guests and left the conclusions up to the audience.

I understand that there is an ideal standard, which is the biblical one. But nobody on earth starts out with the Biblical standard when they accept Christ.

It’s all a process towards the ideal. As you study and learn to pull back, you’ll make these considerations along the way until you might reach the standard one day.

God did that with the Israelites. He expected obedience, without explaining why they should obey and they eventually figured out that obedience leads to mindset and heart changes.

Oh yes. I should’ve clarified that it’s the George Noory version of Coast to Coast Am which in no way meausred up to Art Bell’s.

I used to have to go to work and leave at 6am and when Art’s show was on, though never intending to, and not being able to tear myself away, listened up to 4 am when he was on Coast to Coasts. What great shows those things were.

Art was great. His desire for proof in UFO’s was in ernest but he did not just believe because someone made claims. He wanted to really know.

IIRC you give off strong Calvinist vibes, but there are a number of different shades of Calvinism, often in stark contrast with each other and the product of serious thought.

No, there is nothing distinctive of Calvinism here, and my last sentence against OSAS is contrary to it, as while that aspect is dispute, it is simply standard Scriptural historical evangelical preaching, thus Catholics oppose it.

some posters may have a knee-jerk reaction against everything a non-Catholic says, but most Catholics do not.

Enough said.

Anyone interested enough to find out what is behind this UFO phenomena and what maybe real and what may be not may want to watch this interview https://youtu.be/p2hk8Qp8dd0 The person being interview is an MD and is an expert on this subject and has researched it for more than thirty years. This interview is somewhat lengthy but since this is a multi faceted subject it cannot be explained in just a few minutes. Many technological advancement are pointed out in this interview which most likely will show up in the not too distant future. I believe it to be a very worthwhile interview to watch.
