Scientists have floated the idea that humans live in a computer game controlled by aliens, and a UFO expert has suggested that would explain the multiplicity of religions on Earth.
Nick Pope, who ran the British Government's UFO project in the 1990s, told DailyMail.com that the simulation theory would be why beliefs vary.
He explained that the intelligence behind what we call our reality may have assigned different tasks to different designers, and mistakes could have been made in the programming - causing us to have contrasting ideologies.
'Often in cosmology, there seems to be a disconnect between theory and observation,' said Pope.
'In religious terms, it would be as if several different gods all had a hand in creating the universe, and all had their different styles.'

Any “leading UFO expert” gets an immediate minus 300 points on credibility.
No. The reason why Christianity and Judaism is different from all other religions is because of the teaching of abiding by consequences, otherwise known as holiness.
No other religion has made that idea a point of study.
An interesting sweeping statement.
There are shades of Christianity and Judaism that do not hold this, but I would agree that you are basically right on these religions.
I don’t know enough about other religions to affirm or deny anything about them beyond saying that your hypothesis sounds interesting and that your definition of holiness is interesting and idiosyncratic, at least from a Catholic perspective. .
So how does he explain the cities that are increasingly filled with feral animals that do nothing but take, take, take?
No, we are living in a real world that has turned it’s back on God, and is headed towards the inevitable end, via Armageddon.
To be clear, I’m not saying all versions of Christianity or Judaism are equal in making a point of studying holiness. I’m just saying that no religion has made that a point of their existence.
All religions teach the idea of goodness, I guess. However, not all religions try to understand the true meaning of goodness.
My name is... NEO!
Sounds like a made in Hollywood movie script.
Just to be clear, I am not on board with this stuff. This is the stuff of crackpots.
Hinduism sees karma as the relationship between a person’s actions and the consequences in this life and in previous lives of following those actions.
But, according to Ephesians 2:8-9: “By grace you are saved, through faith, and this is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no man may boast.”
God’s grace is His gift to you. You can’t earn it. The blood of Christ interrupts karma, the chain of cause and effect, the consequences of positive or negative action. You receive life eternal by accepting His gift, not through the consequences of your behavior....
People who follow this subject are suspicious about Nick Pope's motives (i.e., is he a government operative?). On many occasions, his comments seem contrary and contentious in comparison to the comments of more credible people.
That said, even enemies of the truth are worth considering because they sometimes reveal information about their motives (i.e., "Know thine enemy").
“You receive life eternal by accepting His gift, not through the consequences of your behavior....”
Which relieves you of self accountability and self responsibility.

And which is the point of salvation.
I’m the worst most misbehaven, sayin what i shouldnt, corrupt, profane screwup ever to have walked the earth. I make that fedderstein guy look quite saintly in my behaviors. There’s no hope for me. I’ve tried correcting my behaviors and it does not work. The only hope for me is if Jesus died on the cross so that his blood would cover my failures and corruption. If we could rely on our ‘self accountability and self responsibililty’ then the sacrifice would not have been required.
But God KNEW our hearts are wicked and only ever seek to do evil things. That which we think we’re doing is good things only ever end up perpetuating the corruption. The hope of the righteous is in their own righteousness. But come as you are to Jesus (not the church). We come to him in spirit, and in truth, and inside of your heart. His blood will be accounted to you as righteousness. Let him right your ship, restore that which the locusts have taken, fill your heart with joy and peace, restore your soul and heal your life. He’s an unidentified flying object, he will roll away your stone.
Of course he’s an operative.
And yes, worth noting the Five Eyes goosing a potential psyop that has long been promoted as a way to unite world under a single government. I think they’re still softening the ground and will likely only try the ploy a few years from now.
Not really. You’re still required to repent of your wrongdoings, just not have to pay the whole price for them, as in an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Or the wages of sin, which is death. Religions such as Buddhism say that you must earn your own way to enlightenment or something, which no one can really do.
In the 1950s, this “leading UFO expert” would be one of many residing in various loony bins.
IGNORANCE! ....imho
