Before you all get mad at me for attacking this young lady, let me get this out of the way: Yes, she's better than me. No, I couldn't make a D3 practice squad.
BUT, let me also be clear: This whole spectacle is a joke.
The NCAA is celebrating Haley Van Voorhis because she's the first female to play a snap in a college football game (Shenandoah, Division III) who isn't a kicker.
Van Voorhis came in late in the game as a safety and recorded a "QB hurry."
Haley, girl, you were unabated to the QB! You gotta get those hands up and bat the ball down there! You were too slow for the sack!
Haley came in when her team was up 26 points in the first quarter - she rushed the QB completely unblocked (because who's gonna hit a girl, right?) - and recorded a QB hurry that, in the NFL, would have been called roughing the passer.
I'm not going to argue that it's a late hit or roughing the passer, because I ain't soft. But if that was Tom Brady she'd have been thrown out of the game.
Just sayin'.
But good for her, I guess. Women have finally made it!
...Made it to the least consequential play in the least consequential football game so that woke ESPN and the woke NCAA could brag that there's no difference between men and women.
I saw the news. The play was a complete joke. Everybody had to have been in on it. The unrestricted access to a qb who didn’t move total joke.
Fewer square inches of clothing than NFL.
Pointless, ridiculous, and indicative of the weakness of our current society.
The way to fix this is for some team to assign a big, quick and mean offensive lineman to target, and simply obliterate her, play after play, until she isn’t playing anymore.
It’s time to start pushing back on the woke agenda, on every front.
😜👍🤦♂️...............................
F’n pathetic... she should shower with the team to see how that goes.
I play beer league ice-hockey and there are a few women scattered throughout the league. One pretty young thing in her 20's, who had played on her college woman's team, was quite aggressive and would run guys into the boards, even though it was a non-checking league.
guys' didn't know how to react when that happened to them. They wouldn't fight her, of course. Some would yell at the referees. Some would skate alongside her and make comments about going out together.
She also hit the QB after he released the ball. It would have been roughing the passer for any other player.
She’s certainly making it work for her.
‘Everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth.” Mike Tyson.
Shenandoah is a well-known music school in VA. My son played against a girl in JV. She played Wide Receiver and he knocked her down during an interception. He didn’t know she was a girl.
I think he also played against a girl who played Guard when he was on DL. She was a big’un.
Pass. Give me Lingerie Football, instead.

Yeah...treat her like a real football player and block or tackle her into the next dimension. Remember that women who kicked that miserable, pathetic 30-40 yard kick off in a D1 college game?
Good thing I wasn’t opposing teams coach. As soon as she kicked the ball...she went straight for the sideline...I would have tried to set up blocking between her and the sideline. It would have been 11 vs. 10 and I am sure her teams players wouldn’t run her over to make a play. Easy six, and a devastating pancake block. I would have bet it would be the last time that posturing stunt was pulled.
as a defensive end, that was a very slow run, a weak hit, and didn’t even get her arms up
Way back when, me and a buddy played basketball against 2 female teachers, we got our butts handed to us because we were to afraid to play aggressive.
If I was still able and could, I’d have no problem shooting an elbow, driving the lane or setting up for a charging call.
You watch though, some guy will jack her up and he’ll be the bad guy.
Kicker goin’ to the sideline makes it 11 vs 10. I’d take those odds immediately. Male or female kicker. By going to the sideline they can get in the way of the play. They could be an inadvertant blocker for the receiving team. Better to have them run AWAY from the play if you want to save em for later. That would look kinda’ thoughtless.
Anyone who drills 40-50 yard field goals consistently will be signed. No doubt. I would sign them too. Well actually 45-55 yard consistently.
But my point is to not let people just say they can do just as well and give them a pass..they gotta prove it under fire.
When I was trying to play JC ball....back in the day when freshmen couldn’t play in D1 ball...we had a 39 year old, 5’3” 145 lb. Guy telling us how he was gonna make the JC team. Needless to say, on a team that had heavily muscled 6’1- 6’4”, 190-240 lb guys...he didn’t last long. He was respected for trying but he got no mercy. Same here..
