Lawns get fairy circles here in the northwest. They are fungal infections. Nearly impossible to eradicate, too. I’ve got one in a small stand of trees in my front yard. Lot’s of people say they originate where old trees once stood.

Global warming not mentioned in article? Interesting.
Sometimes you have to read an article and pay attention to what it doesn’t say.

My late father in law said that if you water your lawn after sunset you run the risk of getting these.

If they are found in the US, the phenomenon would most likely have its roots in San Francisco.

This is because they were able to identify specific features common to all the sites in which the fairy circles can be found. These include a very dry, arid, desert environment; high temperatures and high precipitation seasonality; and soil with very low nutrients, and a high sand content.

Here is an article with some science.
Getzin acknowledges that plants don’t have brains, per se, but this is an intelligent mathematical pattern. Several of the circles are also evenly spaced from one another to create a uniformly repeated honeycomb pattern — part of its eerie appearance. Researchers call this uniform design a turing pattern, which was first explained by mathematician Alan Turing.
Could it be DESIGN? or it just looks like design but it really random..............................
