You are most welcome! :)
I had an Ilya Kuryakin action figure when I was a kid.
So he gets it. I wish more of them would.
That goes for musicians, comedians, etc.
I want to watch you do your craft, because I admire your skills in that way. I don’t give a hoo ha what your personal opinions are.
MAD Magazine had some great satire. It isn’t the same nowadays! Even when they made fun of politicians it was in Good Humor.
They did a parody of James Bond movies a few times. They did a parody of Star Wars and R2D2 was Alfred E Neuman. They parodied hit movies. The cover of MAD when they parodied Jaws was funny...Alfred E Neuman was the swimmer and the shark looked like he had an upset stomach!
I knew he was one of the youngest in the film, didn't realize he was the last of the main cast.
RIP Ducky!
His father was 1st violinist of London Philharmonic Orchestra. In A Night To Remember, he survived the sinking of Titanic
There were only three channels. So at school the next day, EVERONE had watched the same thing. Shared experiences, tighter culture.
Then came more channels. Then vcr (time shifting). Then streaming.
We grew up in a very unique time that will never exist again.
Call it the broadcast era.
Now anyone can broadcast, and anyone can watch anything.
That’s the impact of technology.
He will always be Ducky to me .
.
RIP.
Dame Joanna Lumley is 77 now.
“I’ve always preferred the Mad Magazine version: “The Man From A.U.N.T.I.E.” (The Association for Unbelievably Nauseating Television and Idiotic Entertainment).”
Mad Mag did a parody of the huge Cleopatra movie, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Ricard Burton. Who had all kinds of love hijinks on the movie set. That were feverishly reported in the media of the time.
Mad Mag gave it the title of CleoPotroast.
Agree on both points. The most attractive actor from Man from UNCLE—that shock of blond hair—and loved him on NCIS.
He married his second wife, Katherine, shortly after he and Jill were divorced. He and Katherine remained married until his death, so it seems love really is lovelier the second time around.
Oh wow I’ve been without my computer for a week so I just stumbled across this news. A huge chunk of my childhood was the Man From UNCLE. I know we lost Robert a while ago now and Leo passed away shortly after UNCLE ended. RIP David and thanks for the memories.
Big Man From U.N.C.L.E. fan!
I had the Man From U.N.C.L.E. spy attache case. I still have my Man From U.N.C.L.E. security badge somewhere.
David’s musician father’s suggested to Jimmy Page to use a violin bow on his electric guitar.
The other round about Page connection, is that Jimmy did the soundtrack for a Charles Bronson Death Wish film. Charles Bronson was also in The Great Escape with David.
Charles Bronson stole David’s wife, Jill Ireland, from him. Who’s to blame???
