What is so hard of 1+1=2.

The answer will be to lower the bar of expectations. Presto, everyone in public schools are meeting standards.

Math proficiency of school are compared within their own state only. Evidently grammar are a problem too.

Divide 1/2 by two. Most kids cannot do that.

Math proficiency is racist and probably sexist, and transphobic.

It’s racist.

Take a look at some 100+ year old school books.
Kids used to learn math.

A decade ago the science proficiency score where I taught was 94% with over 40% achieving high proficiency can’t speak for maths but we did offer high school algebra to 8th graders and prep algebra for 7th graders.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Why bother to have math proficiency if you can go into a Louis Vuitton store and take all the gear you want and just walk out with it? Zero plus zero plus zero equals zero. That's your receipt.
Why bother learning anything mathematical if there are no more math SATs because there are no more SATs?
All you have to BE is nonwhite or nonasian to get into Princeton or Harvard. You don't need to KNOW anything.
Only a foo' would learn math. It be hard.
