Here is the fascinating comment that elicited my fascinating response.
“Not my flag
Not my nation
Not my problem”
This original statement does not really call for any disagreement or discussion. It is basically a statement of indifference, which if true is a waste of everyone’s time and attention. Since the person did take the time and attention to write this, perhaps their goal is to motivate lack of interest in others. If anything could kill FR, it is a number of people adopting this lack of interest. If anything could kill the United States it would be a common attitude of disinterest, not paying attention to what is happening, and not even caring to vote. Kind of sounds what has happened to Russians under Putin. And maybe that was the goal of the commenter.
Not surprising in the least.

Interesting point. Ihank you for your comment.
As I've been suggesting for a long time the actual conservative wing of the GOP is finally waking up to the stupidity of this war, and America's unnecessary and unwise decision to back Zelensky. And, as I predicted its the true conservatives who are speaking out, as in this article below.
This leaves you in the awkward position I suggested you would find yourself in a while ago: aligned and supporting the Biden foreign policy, at odds with the best thought- leaders of the GOP like Sen. Josh Hawley, Sen. Rand Paul, Tucker Carlson, and Pres. Donald J. Trump.
Instead you are slogging through life as a Zeeper; aligned with reprehensible NeoCon warmongers like Victoria Nulamd, RINO gouls like Mike Pence, Never-Trump "conservatives" like Bill Kristol, and the occassional 98 year old Nazi.
That's a sad rogue's gallery you are aligned with. Do you ever stop to consider where you went wrong? Or, as you push forward oblivious to it all, is it dawning on you that the logic of your position requires that you will be supporting Biden over Trump in 2024? Like many of the RINOs and Never Trumpers who share your enthusiasm for the corrupt Ukrainian regime and their wretched, foolish leader Zelensky.
Talk about painting yourself into a corner!
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), known for his efforts to force the Biden Administration to declassify information related to covid's possible lab origins at Wuhan, exited a classified briefing this week on the situation in Ukraine and expressed a feeling of shock."If there is some path to victory in Ukraine, I didn't hear it today. I also heard that there's going to be no end to the funding requests..."
Hawley went on to indicate that Americans will be asked to spend hundreds of billions more dollars in the region with an indefinite blank check in place to protect "US standing" on the world stage.
Zelensky asked Biden and Congress for another $24 billion during his latest visit, stating that if Ukraine doesn't get the aid, they will lose the war. The information at hand suggests that Ukraine is going to lose the war anyway.
You’re a tool being manipulated by corruptocrats.
Putin is not our enemy, D.C. is.
and here he is, 98 year old member of the The 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Ukrainian), retired, now maybe eligible for the front lines, Yaroslav Hunk.

Slava Ukraine!!!
I will respond with the same comment as #32 in this thread.
--- "If you are not interested and it is NOT your problem, then why on earth are you wasting your time telling us about it. We care about people who care, not the totally indifferent."People disagree. It is merely you OPINION that you state, just as are all the other comments. This is a fascinating response, given the general atmosphere of Free Republic in which people comment and disagree, often, in commenting. Sometimes with rancor and sometime with humor. But disagreement can be found.
To ask " why on earth are you wasting your time telling us" suggests that this "daily amen™" thread, you expect no disagreement on this thread. Odd.
And since the Robinsons' view is cited so often, here is a portion of that dictum:
"...a difference of opinion whether or not the US government should be involved in a controversial foreign war where we were not attacked."Posted on 7/9/2023, 12:33:27 AM by Jim Robinson

You can make your disagreement heard without the “tool” comment, but I guess par for the course
It appears that you think those Ukrainian soldiers are American soldiers.
Did you fall for that or did you post that hoping others would fall for that fake twitter title?
"U.S. Army Hospital in Germany Is Treating Americans Hurt Fighting in Ukraine" -- New York Times.

You don’t need to start with your personal attacks.
You chose to use that fake twitter title to give the impression that American GIs were fighting in Ukraine but if you read the thread you linked to or the NYTs article, you will see that they are Ukrainian soldiers who are Americans.
They are not American soldiers but Ukrainian soldiers.
“””Special Forces and related special services”””
Special Forces are the green beret and Special Services was the entertainment part of the American military, music, sports, etc.
Britain uses “Special Services” for their Special Operations.
“To ask ‘why on earth are you wasting your time telling us’ suggests that this ‘daily amen’ thread, you expect no disagreement on this thread. Odd.”
Gleeaikin implied no such thing. Gleeaikin welcomes disagreement; but rightfully points out that if one has no opinion one way or the other, then why post a comment saying that; as it adds nothing to the discussion.
Especially when it is spam, repeated every day.
JUST IGNORE: Worldtraveler once upon a time likes to spin his own interpretations.
The wounded are not US military troops. They are Americans and fighting in Ukraine but not as members of the American army. They are soldiers Americans fighting for the Ukrainian government, just not US Army soldiers.

This becomes an interesting thread, as you speak for another. The original comment -- yes, I know it has been repeated in previous threads -- is an opinion. All in fact are opinions, mine and yours and beyond, sometimes bolstered by citations and often not.
"...why post a comment?" Because in a Free Republic, it is allowed to post a comment. Freely.
If said comment needs to be contested, then post a contest making contest. If said comment is best not responded to, don't respond. That is comment 55's view. Seems rather straight forward.
Specifically on these threads, the observation is apt that -- as posted in this thread -- there continue to be....

Correct total agreement!
Extremely Extreme Extremist repetitively comments:
“Not my flag
Not my nation
Not my problem”
gleeaikin commented: “This original statement does not really call for any disagreement or discussion. I like your answer. Good common sense.
The problem is that a smaller number of “conservatives” are becoming woke and hippies. They are losing their faith, and seem to not care about Christianity anymore. That’s why they don’t care about our allies being slaughtered by neo-soviet forces. I wouldn’t count on them to defend our own country. They would probably side with Russia in case we were invaded by them one day.
We should all hope for the best, while proactively prepare for the worst.
The warmongering deep-state colonaliasts and organized mafia running the Kremlin have clearly stated that Ukraine is just a small step on their list of countries they intend to attack.
Helping Ukraine is actually helping ourselves.
We are depleting Russia’s military, making it weaker while the Ukrainian people pay with their blood.
The lend-lease program we have put in place for Ukraine only costs about 8% of America’s military budget. It’s peanuts.
A lot of what we pay for Ukraine, actually stays here in America in American businesses.
The Russian alliance is composed of: North Korea, Belarus, China, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Iran.
They are all communist nations + one ultra Islamic one (IRAN). They are non stop conspiring together against American interests. How on earth can any conservative here in America or in Europe support such hellish crowd?
We have an opportunity of a lifetime, to considerably weaken the head of the Hydra - which is the Kremlin.
Let’s not waste this golden opportunity.
“This becomes an interesting thread, as you speak for another.”
I wasn’t speaking for her; I was pointing out to you what she said (which apparently went over your head).
“Because in a Free Republic, it is allowed to post a comment. Freely.”
Yes, that’s true. But don’t you think the comment should be germane to the topic, and add something to the discussion? Posting a comment to the effect the poster has no opinion or doesn’t care one way or the other serves no purpose at all (unless it was simply a way for the poster to call attention to him- or herself).
You mention JR’s comment about differences of opinion. That’s right: The key word being OPINION. The subject poster had no opinion, and said as much; thus, he or she contributed nothing to the discussion. He or she is certainly free to do that; but it is meaningless.
