post-em if ya got-em...
“1976 GMC Jimmy.
350 4bbl
full time 4wd
on a good day, with the wind to my back, it got 9 mpg.”
Currently building a camper van. 1979 G-30 1 ton 4X4. 350, turbo 350, Dana 60 rear, Dana 44 front, Warn locking hubs, front and rear power-lock diffs, 4-11 ratio, early gear to gear transaxle, all on 315 75 R 16s.
I have squeezed that Quuadrajet so tight I am getting 18 miles to the gallon highway at 65 mph. But... It is running so lean the bottom of the pistons are cooking the oil in half the time it would normally take. While that is excellent mileage for what it is, there is a limit to how lean you can run those. lol
Just got an overdrive trans to adapt into it. That should give me wiggle room to richen it back up a little and still get about the same mileage.
“4x4 means the vehicle can be operated in either in 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive. AWD is different. WIth AWD there is transfer case that shifts power/torque between front and rear axle automatically.”
Kind of half correct, half of the reality.
“Regular Car Reviews”. LOL! They have a MST3K vibe.
Suzi could fit in the back... 8^)
Got watch their review of the PT Cruiser for a really good laugh :)
4x4 simply means 4 powered wheels
like 6 x 6 trucks, with four rear and two front drive wheels
2 wheel drive needs no differentiation...
my 4runner thought it was a Land Cruiser sometimes...
great trucks
nice, my 4runner was the only automatic 4x4 i owned
now i’m back to locking up hubs
AWD isn’t quite the same as 4x4,
yup, they aren’t the technical’s first choice of truck for nothing...
all ya need is a 12.7 in the back 8^)
BRUTUS, and you can fix it yerself...
love fully murdered looks...
Chode! That my “ZAV” (Zombieland Activities Vehicle). You should see the inside.
Looks like Verstappen shut his critics up today!
Bigly...
Nope... I’ve got a big dick too.
Had a 1985 Suzuki SJ410 I bought in Guam in 85 and brought it back to the states in 85 and drove it from California to Maine. Had it painted dark metallic grey with black stripes, put some Camaro bucket seats in it, coil over shocks that lifted it about 3” and stuck so 31” tires on it and drove it down to Pax River. Nobody seen anything like it back then.
sweet...
i run 31” also
that was one hell of a trip
The police found it 250 miles east of where it was stolen from 2 months later, and the insurance company dilly-dallied around, finally paying us half its actual value.
I had just finished doing close to $8k worth of maintenance to it (steering box, turbo housing, front suspension work, wheel bearings etc) when it vanished, and then there were the tools and other accessories (pony tank & pump, rain gear, tire chains, etc).
I loathe insurance people. They intentionally waited until truck values in the area dropped before even offering any sort of settlement. And of course NOTHING that wasn’t permanently attached to the truck didn’t count in their calculations.
soo wrong on a couple levels...
