Zimbabwe will be among the countries represented at the 2023 Miss Universe pageant on Nov. 18 after selecting its first crowned beauty in 22 years.
The African country’s return to the competition is an exciting fete, but not everyone is pleased with the woman chosen as the nation’s representative for the global stage.
Brooke Bruk-Jackson, a white woman, was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2023 on Sept. 16. She is a native of Harare, the country’s capital. The 21-year-old model’s runner-ups were Black women, Amanda Mpofu and Nokutenda Marumbwa.
But Bruk-Jackson has not been shown much grace from outraged natives who believe a Black woman should have been crowned. The country boasts a population of more than 14 million, with non-Black people making up roughly two percent.

She's African.
She be YAS QUEEN! and Sheeeiiittt.
Shouldn't da sistas be happy for her?
The winnah...and three not-so-happy campers. At right are last years' winner, and the emcee - who is probably saying "Wait, this must be a mistake".
At least she’s a woman.
Their tolerance and inclusivity are inspiring.
Meanwhile every white European nation trips over themselves to make a foreign dark skinned black their “miss queen.”. That woman is in danger and should leave that country post haste.
“”On X, one person exclaimed, “All those beautiful melanted women and you telling me the European woman won a contest for black people!!??” “”
If it is “for black people” then why are the whites in it?
Sounds like someone was told how “special” they are and that the Afrikaners are the white devil.
Why am I hearing “White men can’t jump” off in the distance?
Is it because of genetics?
The butthurt contestants will just have to suck it up, Brooke is who she is and there ain’t nothing the abbos can do about it.
.
Atlanta Black Star.
I don’t believe their objectivity
I’d hit that
She’s a minority there
At least she’s not a guy in drag.

I guess it is okay to be racist against a minority as long as that minority is melanin deficient.
And I have to ask the obvious question: why blame the young lady?
She was not on the judges panel. She did not chose herself.
What was the melanin content of the judges?
Who knew they had any?
I was once introduced to a South African girl by some Rhodesians that got out about 1978, she about 19 or so and NO ONE I have met before or since could even come close.
I have spent quite a bit of time in the company of young ladies that would stop men dead in their tracks (dancers, actresses, etc,) the effect wears off after a while and you can see the girls for who they really are.
The SA girl (almost) left me speechless.
.
Maybe she is, but in some of the photos she doesn’t look 100% white to me.
